So this will be a rant so if it doesn't make much sense I apologise my thoughts are all over the place on this. So let's get started!

Ahhh Kalvin Garrah what a great topic. So if you don't know, Kalvin is a transgender YouTube who makes videos primarily to do with trans issues on media and his own experiences with being trans. He's been around on YouTube for awhile with quite a good following. If you want to learn properly about him then I say research him because this post isn't going to be educating on his life as I'm going to share my opinions.

When I was 13/14 I used to be really into his content. I believed everything he was saying and honestly I was just very vulnerable when trying to figure out who I was. He always made comments about how trans men shouldn't present as female and then I felt like I was faking who I was and honestly I spiralled a lot. Why did he believe that he can tell trans people what they can or can't do? He knew that people came to him to figure out who they are and it's like he was shutting the people down who weren't the same as him. Am I the only one who sees that it is unfair? Trans people need to know that they are free to be themselves and he wasn't doing that.

So what am I here to say? I want to say that Kalvin is a bully. The way he treats people when he thinks they are weird is terrible. Does he not know the saying "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all"? I don't think he has. My main issue with this is the way that he uses the term "tranny voice." That term is so damaging to people because it makes them even more dysphoric about how they sound. Kalvin was struggling with his voice before he started treatment so he should know that trans people can experience dysphoria badly.

I think YouTube should have a refresh. I don't like people who are only there to spread hate for good content because YouTube shouldn't be for that. Kalvin is a good example of when free speech is taken too far; yes it is okay to share opinions and yes free speech is available for you on YouTube but why use that free speech for worse when you could help other trans people instead of making them feel not good enough? So many trans people go to YouTube to seek advice and help on who they are and Kalvin making people feel as if they aren't doing it right is appalling.

I don't want anyone to send hate to him. He may be in the wrong but there is no need to be rude back as that just makes us as bad as him. Personally hate shouldn't be sent to anyone. I have hopes in Kalvin that he will be able to change and see how much he is hurting people because there is tons of youtubers who have called him out already and good on them, he will never stop if we don't act.

Thank you for reading my rant. If you have anything you wanna add just message me or leave a comment. If you also have any topics you would like me to cover then go ahead!
