Jeremy sat at his throne as the head maid, Jenna, told him about the upcoming events. He rolled his eyes at how boring everything was. He raised his hand and cut Jenna off.
"Enough, what's today's scoop?" Jenna's face brightened.
"You know the knight Jake, and the chef, Rich?" Jeremy leaned in.
"Mhm?"
"They finally confessed. The court jester, Christine told me she found them making out behind the horse stables." Jeremy's eyes widened.
"Oh my god. No."
"Yes." Jenna was about to keep talking when the king came into the room. She bowed. "Your majesty." Jeremy stood up.
"Father, I thought you said that you were going to be gone for another day." Jeremy's face broke into a smile. "I'm so glad you're back early though." He hopped down from the platform that the thrones were on and hugged his father.
"Hello son, I'm back early because I've discovered that you must get married soon based on the law." Jeremy's smile faltered. "But, I still want you to find someone you love, so I'm holding a ball with all of the people in the kingdom. I want you to meet some people." Jeremy smiled again. "Now then, let's see..." He grabbed a bell off of a table. "Chloe!" The secretary came into the room.
"Hello, your royal highness. What do you need?" The king sat down on his throne.
"We are throwing a ball this Saturday to find Jeremy a spouse. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, in the kingdom is invited. And I have jobs for everyone in the castle. Jenna, I want you to tell Jake that the maids and knights are going to help decorate the castle. Off you go." Jenna nodded and went to go find Jake. "Chloe, notify Brooke to get the tailors to make everyone in the castle outfits. Also, tell Rich that the kitchen has to make a lot of food. Make sure Christine gets some entertainment. Music for dancing, maybe a play or something for people who don't want to dance. And you are in charge of getting the invites out. Got it?" Chloe nodded. "Dismissed." Chloe left the room, and the king turned to Jeremy. "Go find Brooke, and get your dress made by her personally." Jeremy nodded and got up, heading for the tailors' quarters.
Time skip~
"Stop squirming!" Brooke was working on Jeremy's dark blue dress. She was tucking pins into the sleeve of the dress, and he was not comfortable. "If you keep on moving, you're going to get stabbed, and you know it!" Jeremy settled down, and let her pin it. "Sooo! What color do you want the collar?" She asked.
"Just black." She stuck out her tongue.
"That's lame, I'm using silver thread." Jeremy rolled his eyes but didn't say anything. "So, any good gossip?" Jeremy nodded.
"Jenna told me Christine found Rich and Jake making out behind the horse stables." Brooke rolled her eyes.
"Took em' long enough!" Jeremy laughed.
"You got anything good, Jenna needs more info." Brooke thought for a moment, before gasping.
"Apparently, Chloe likes someone! She says she's gonna ask em' to the ball." Jeremy laughed and rolled his eyes. Brooke was head over heels for Chloe, and Jeremy knew Chloe felt the same about Brooke.
