I was never going to have it all.
Confidence.
Friends.
Or Love.
Not now. Not ever.
Until him.
A spoiled brat.
UOP's ultimate asshole.
The hockey team bad boy.
Damon Saint.
He hates me,
Or so I thought.
One night. One. That was supposed to be it.

Fluttering my eyes open I look around my room and let out a frustrated sigh. I did this to myself. I drove her way because I'm an asshole. Growling under my breath I yank the blankets off me and crawl out of my king size. "Hey, Damon. I know this is bad timing but we have a hockey meeting with coach" Ace calls through the door.
Bad timing? No, bad century. Closing my eyes briefly, I open them again. Walking to my closet I yank my suit out and start dressing myself quickly. Looking at myself in the dresser mirror I lather some gel in my hand, running it through my dark waves quickly. Opening up my bedroom door I head down the stairs into the main area to face my friends. Who I've been avoiding for two days. Since well, the incident with Hanna.
Damien eyes me cautiously before he turns to Nathan and begins chatting. "Okay stop with the looks, I'm not going off like a bomb anytime soon" I growl. Sam nods, shoving his hands into his suit pockets. "Let's get a move on" Ace replies, heading out the door to his type r. Following closely behind I slide into the back seat with Sam and Nathan. Gazing out the window I frown. This entire situation is my fault, I mean if I would think before I spoke, Hanna would still be in my life.
Sighing I rest my head against the window and stare out at it, waiting for the car to come to a stop. Once we reached the arena I practically drove out of the car, hating the absolute silence that filled the car for twenty minutes. Taking my steps two at a time I climb the stairs into the video room. When I enter the room I come to notice the entire team is already here except us. Seated patiently waiting for the coach just like the rest of us.
Taking my seat I shove a hand through my hair ruffling it a little as I stare around the room. "Okay! Let's get started" coach announces when he enters the room, closing the door behind him. Tilting my head I focus all my attention on the coach so I can ignore the room around me. Coach presses play on a video from last season's finals. We did fucking terrible and we know it. "What did he do wrong here?" Coach asks looking directly at Sam.
"He wasn't sharing the puck, he was hogging it the entire time he was on the ice" he replies shoving a hand into his blonde hair. Coach nods in agreement and I clench my jaw. I wasn't fucking hogging it, nobody was ever open. Clenching my teeth I stay silent through the entire meeting unless I'm spoken too. "That's enough for today, see you on Thursday for practice" Coach says, leaving us alone in the room.
Jumping to my feet I head out leaving my teammates behind me. I'm so sick of avoiding them but I really would rather not have the Hanna conversation with them. Stopping beside Ace's car I blow out a ragged breath shoving my hands into my pockets. "Hey, Damon. Do you want to join us at Ricky's?" Sam asks when he comes to a stop beside me. I shoot him a smile before I speak.
"I'd love the distraction" I reply softly with a grin. The boys nod as we all climb into the car and head to our favourite bar off campus. When the car comes to a stop again we all make our way inside to our normal booth, awaiting the rest of our team. "I'll have a beer" I reply to the waitress as she stands there biting her lip while she watches Ace. Women are annoying sometimes and now that I've been off the table for so long I realize what they were doing the entire time.
"Me as well," Sam winks at her. She practically throws her panties in his direction with that wink. It's dangerous and girls love it. Smirking, I watch Sam with a grin. Once she leaves our table I begin to speak. "You know her panties were melting right off, just with your infamous wink" I grin. Sam smirks and ruffles his blonde hair grinning right back at me. "I charm the ladies? What can I say" he smirks.
As our drinks are set on the table I remember why I never want to drink. Fuck it. I've been thinking about her way too much lately. Popping off the cap I take a giant swig engaging in conversation with my friends after what seems like weeks. I only avoided them for the past two days though so it was that long without their company.
I'm momentarily distracted when my phone goes off in the middle of Damien's story. Gazing down at the name I raise my brow. Bailey. Why the fuck is she calling me? She already gave me shit, her and Scarlet both. Ace looks at me with a tilt to his chin and a confused expression. I shove the phone towards him showing him the name flashing across my screen.
The boys stare at me bewildered before they nod towards the phone. "Answer her, she doesn't call it must be important" Sam says. I nod and slide out of the booth, heading towards the bathrooms before I swipe answer on the number. "This better be good because I'm seriously sick of the phone tag we're playing" I growl into the line. "It's important! Asshole" she yells into the phone, almost deafening me.
"What's going on?" I demand. "Hanna- she needs you to get to me and her new apartment like no, I'm not fucking around so you better be on your way" she yells. What? "What do you mean? Just tell me what's going on!" I yell back. "It's better Hanna tells you herself, I know the two of you are having issues but this is two important to ignore" she says. Important? What is wrong with her. Hanna. Something's wrong.
Pacing back and forth in the bathroom hallways I tug at my hair in frustration. "Just tell me" I demand. I hear a huff on the other line as Bailey growls at me. "I can't tell you because she doesn't know I called! So get in your fucking car and drive here now!" she screams, the exams ends right after she finishes the sentence. Shit. Shoving my phone in my pocket I race back to the booth and stop beside my friends. "I need a ride to Bailey and Hanna's new apartment, I'd go alone but I wasn't given the address" I growled.
Ace shoots me a look before he climbs out of the booth and follows me outside to his car. Slamming into gear we drive off in the direction of the condo and realization kicks in. She was so close, yet so far away. We stop in front of a brown coloured condo and Ace slams his car in the park. "You go, I'll be fine" I respond as I race from the car to the front door. Pounding my fist against the wood Scarlet's face lights up the doorway as she wrenches it open.
"This way" she says, grabbing my arm and dragging me towards a bedroom. "What the hell is he doing here!" Hanna screams half cries. I'm officially worried and I won't be able to stop myself from comforting her. "Bailey called him, I told her too" Scarlet replies as she sits on the bed with the blonde. Staring at Hanna in pain makes me nauseous. "What's going on baby? Talk to me" I say softly as I kneel beside her.
Hanna's green eyes stare up at me bloodshot with tears stained to her cheeks. What she says next literally slams through my body.
