So Julia went home ill. So I'm officially alone. She isn't in my music class anyway, but this means I'll be sitting by myself at lunch. Maybe I'll just go to my maths classroom and do extra work without Luke Hemmings getting in my line of vision and distracting me. I actually like that idea. Maybe I should get Julia to come to maths with me every lunch time. Wow, I am a nerd...

Music class came around and Luke was not there at the start of the lesson. YAY! I went to ask Mrs Elliot - I think that's her name - if we were allowed to switch partners.

"No, certainly not. If you're not happy with your partners, well, tough. I'm sick of this generation always thinking they can get what they want! Life isn't fair! Deal with it!"

That went well...

About twenty minutes into the lesson the door slammed and the class fell silent. It was my amazing partner! Wow I was beginning to worry he wouldn't get to class at all!

"You're late, Hemmings," Mrs Elliot said, glaring at Luke as he walked through the door.

He didn't care, he just glared back. His eyes then scanned the room before landing on me and walking towards me. I swallowed hard as he neared me. My palms got sweaty and my heart was pounding. I didn't like him, I was just scared. He pulled the chair next to me out noisily and sat down. Everyone was still staring at him. He turned and glared at the whole class.

"What the fuck are you all looking at?!" He barked. In all honesty, it scared me a lot. I even visibly jumped back in my seat. I could tell Luke noticed because he looked at me put of the corner of his eye and smirked, causing a red blush to rise in my cheeks.

The class went back to their own business and Luke turned to me, "so what song were you thinking?"

He actually spoke to me like a normal person! He asked me a real question and didn't shout at me! I was still scared of him though, so I couldn't find my voice. I shrugged in response to his question.

"What about something by Ed Sheeran?" He asked. I smiled at the idea and nodded slightly. He sighed at my not speaking, "is this about Michael's dare?"

"Honestly, I've only heard rumours so I don't know all the details. In fact, all I've heard is that Michael got dared to do something, and it involved me?"

"Yeah. I may have dared Michael to fuck you," he said and I gasped and stared at him with wide eyes. He chuckled slightly at my reaction, "he has a time limit though. If he gets you in bed by the end of the week he gets $150, by the end of the month, $50. Any later and he doesn't get anything. So would you let him?"

"What?! No! Hell no! Never! No way!" I almost yelled.

He smiled at me. A real, proper, genuine smile. Wow! I've never seen him smile like that before! It's nice. Wait! What am I saying? This is Luke Hemmings we're talking about. Nothing about him is nice! I looked at him as he reached for a guitar and started tuning it.

"They're tuned, Luke," the teacher said.

"Not properly," Luke muttered, causing me to giggle. He smiled at me again, "you have a cute laugh."

I blushed deep red and smiled shyly. Could Luke have changed? No, surely not. It would be good though. Even if Luke hasn't changed, maybe my feelings towards him have...
