The mutants and the turtles managed to find the time masters secret stash of gadgets that she used for time travel. The main one they thought would be the most useful was the automatic timeline scanner, which could scan any timeline you would type into it and check for glitches or mistakes that need fixing in it. "With this, we'll be able to figure out the glitch in our timeline that sent you here," said Vincent, "unfortunately, it may take a long time for it to scan our entire timeline for glitches, you may have to wait for a bit."
The turtles decided it would be best to do some training to pass the time, and the kids happily agreed as they headed for the Dojo. "I don't see why we're wasting our time with training while we should be finding out a way to get back home," said Raph stubbornly, "well you heard what Vincent said Raph," answered Donnie trying to calm him down, "We'll only have a chance of getting home if we figure out what glitch we have to fix in the timeline, no matter how long it takes," he added a little nervous.
"Alright, lets split ourselves up," said Irrilia smiling with her hands on her hips, "lets try...Kiba and Leonardo, Vincent and Michaelangelo, Donatello and Hana, and Thalos and Raphael, I'll spar the winner,"
The turtles stood by the tree as the first pair stood in the centre. "Ready?" Said Irrilia checking, "Hadjime!"
Leonardo charged at Kiba but she ducked and slid through his legs, then jumped up and pushed into his shell with her legs making him fall forwards. "Why don't you use any weapons?" Asked Leo getting up, "wont that make fighting a little easier for you?"
"I have no need for weapons," said Kiba as her snake arms grew and started hissing, "i noticed that they slowed me down when i first started sparring, then when i started to gain more control over my snake form, i realised how effective they could be on their own."
She charged at Leo with her snakes, she attempted to snap at him but Leo merely blocked her left arm, then did the same to the right on her next attempt. He then pushed his fist into her stomach, knocking the air out of her for a second before flinging her against the wall. Leo soon saw that he may have hurt her badly, and quickly rushed over to her. He slowly helped her up, being careful not to hurt her. "Sorry, I didn't mean to fling you that hard" he said, "it's ok," she said putting her hand on his shoulder smiling a little, "it's only a spar..." she thought for a moment, then said, "Can i tell you a secret?" She asked, "uh..sure," answered Leo, not knowing what else to say. He came a little down to her level, and she whispered in his ear, "i really don't know why I'm telling you this...but...i really don't...like fighting. I never have," she said sounding ashamed, "I'm good at it, but it's not really the same. It's one of the reasons Irrilia is the leader and I'm not. She's passionate about fighting and combat, they all are, but not me..." she stopped whispering and looked back at the others who were looking at them awkwardly, "I guess they just need a leader who can encourage them in combat, not someone who opposes it."
Leo put his hand on her shoulder, "there's nothing wrong with a leader who values peace you know," he told her, "a main aspect of a leader may be to fight in battle, but that's only to keep the people their team and people they love safe, not for impure violence. You're always going to want to protect your team, but sometimes they are going to get hurt...but that just makes you stronger and more willing to lead them better."
Kiba smiled showing her small snake fangs, and they sat back with the others.
Leo understood Kiba's fear of being leader completely, but unlike him she was too afraid to even attempt to lead and just abandoned it to stop the fear from growing. But he saw that she was a kind, calm, and collected person, who only wanted her family to be happy and safe. To her, being leader mean't that she would be responsible for leading her cousins into fire, which neither he nor her ever wanted.
Mikey and Vincent walked into the centre and immediately charged a each other screaming jokingly. "Dude, stand still so i can chuck ya!" Laughed Vincent as he chased Mikey in a circle attempting to hit him with his mace, "You can try but you'll never succeed li'l blonde," Mikey replied smiling. For some odd reason, the two were acting more like children play fighting than actually sparring with each other, especially Vincent. "Hey, if you two are gonna mess around that's for chill-time, NOT for training time!" Thalos yelled over at them annoyed, "Thalos, let em have a little fun," said Irrilia calming him down.
"Yeah, stop being such a judge judgerton with your judgment Thalos," Added Vincent savagely, "besides,i can fight like a pro," he tried to prove it by flinging his mace at Mikey's head, but he leisurely ducked leaving Vincent to get hit in the eye by his own weapon, "Oww, my peeper!"He exclaimed stopping to rub it. At that moment, Mikey bonked Vincent on the head with the hard part of his nunchuck, sending him to the ground. Vincent just laughed dizzily.
"Haha, feels good to lose," he said in a chilled tone, "i really hope that's not the attitude you have in battle Vincent Leatherhead Hamato," said Hana said prudely, standing over him.
"Apologise for using my middle name, and then I'll apologise, Kohana," Vincent talked back sassily, "Ok, I'm sorry," Hana replied, then under her breath "Vincent Leatherhead Hamato..."
"What was that?!"
"Nothing!"
Mikey smiled and Vincent fondly. He remembered when he was the runt and the baby of the group, and how no one respected his way of fighting and doing things. But he liked how he saw that the little guy let no one push him around and tell him how to fight, just like he did with his brothers. He liked himself for who he was, and he never wanted to change that, and Mikey thought that was utterly AWESOME.
Hana and Donnie walked to the centre, and surprised to see that both of them were muttering possible outcomes of the fight under they're breath.
"If I come at him with my staff he'll most likely dodge then use his circular motion," began Hana under her breath,
"Leaving me with an open spot by the legs while she is focused by the motion," finished Donnie, also under his breath.
Hana came at him with her staff, "run with a precisely calculated amount of speed," she whispered to herself, "I'm order to gain enough leverage to take my opponent down," she jumped up with her staff in the air attempting to hit Donnie hard in the head, but he blocked her swing with his own staff and knocked her off by twirling his staff in a fast motion.
"Ok, wrong method," Hana whispered shaking off the blow, "just gotta find the right tactic, gotta think..." she wracked her brain for a moment, then picked her staff up off the ground to try again.
She came at Donnie Low intending to knock his leg to make him trip, but as she put her staff to his leg Donnie simply kicked the staff upwards, sending up in the air before catching it in his hand and pointing it at her.
Hana sat down on her knees and looked down as if ashamed, she acknowledged he had won this round.
Donnie put the staffs down and crouched down to her level, "I think i see what your problem is," he said comfortingly,
"What would you know about the right way to fight?" Hana replied sulkily, "well I'll have you know that i have had 18 years in ninja training," Donnie said, trying not to sound cocky, "how many years have you had?"
"Only 11" she answered, before saying, " i don't get it, what am i doing wrong? Did i go wrong with any of my tactics of methods of fighting?" She wondered aloud, "no, no, i don't think it's that," said Donnie interrupting, "you're just overthinking everything about the fight too much, you need to learn how to fight without thinking."
Hana looked up at him or a moment, "fight without thinking? That's absurd!" Exclaimed Hana looking utterly confused, "then how will you know which moves to use to defend yourself against your opponent?"
"Well, fighting without thinking doesn't mean you should fight without focus," Donnie explained to her, "it just means you should fight with your instinct, and what your body tells you to do, not your brain," he brought her back up on her feet, "if you overthink it, then you won't be fighting right."
He smiled reassuringly, and Hana smiled back, then surprised him by giving him a hug, "thanks for the advice," she said thankfully before going back with the others.
Donnie looked at Hana for a while. She had a sense of light and beauty about her, almost like he as looking at his girlfriend April.
But she was smart and witty, and even cared about technological advancements and research like no one (apart from maybe fugitoid) he had ever seen before, and he respected he greatly for that.
last but not least, was Raph and Thalos.
They slowly walked into the ring, "don't expect me to go easy on you, just because you're a kid," said Raph in a gruff voice.
"Don't make me LAUGH," Thalos replied in a similar low voice, "Come at me, red-stripe."
Raph wasted no time after that statement, and charged a full speed.
He tried to lunge at him with his sais out, but Thalos quickly took out his Plasma sword and blocked his attack, then grabbed his leg with his tail and sweeped it, making Raph trip and fall onto the ground.
But was Raph was not going to let this little lizard punk beat him. He got back up and grabbed Thalos's tail, hurling him into the tree. Thalos lay on the floor groaning for a few minutes, before eventually getting back up.
He backflipped off the tree in order to gain leverage and pushed himself right into Raph's stomach, sending them both crashing against the wall.
Both of them quickly recovered, then saw that their weapons were on the other side of the room.
They looked at each other, and quickly started to struggle with one another to get there first. Thalos attempted to run for it but Raph grabbed his tail again and dragged him back. Raph also attempted to run to his weapons but Thalos grabbed the ends of his mask and pulled I'm back. Raph was surprised to see that Thalos was far stronger than he looked.
Thalos started punching him. Violently and hard. After he had given him at least 4 good punches, he put his fist back, about to go in for the kill.
"Thalos, STOP!" Yelled Irrilia. She bolted over and held Thalos's wrist back, stopping him from punching, "Take it easy bro, mom and dad told me to stop you whenever you're getting... too into training."
"Well just because Dad and uncle Leo made you leader it doesn't make you responsible for everything," replied Thalos coldly,
"But it does make me responsible for you guys," she said more comfortingly, looking at him with her soft yellow eyes.
Irrilia slowly helped Raph up, being careful not to hurt his bruises from the punches.
"I'm so sorry," she apologised sounding guilty, "he can get a bit...too passionate about fighting sometimes, mom says she swears he gets it from our dad's side."
Raph accepted the apology. But at the same time, he understood Thalos's over passionate attitude for fighting. That he would sometimes get carried away and end up hurting someone, even though he had no control over it. It was a hard feeling to get over, but if he could control it, then maybe this kid had a chance of doing the same.
"So what's up with you two?" He asked Irrilia as she bandaged his wounds, "do you always have to stop him from almost murdering people like this?"
She paused for a moment, before answering, "well...yeah, i mean...whenever my parents aren't around to stop him.." she said, a bit melancholy. "When we were younger and we were training together, i called him a bad name and he just went ballistic on me," she continued, "he grabbed my tail and threw me onto the ground, Hard. I got a black eye for a month because of him, and that's just one of his incidents," Raph saw that her eyes were starting to fill with tears, "it's just hard to always have to look after him, even when you never know when he's going to try and hurt you or someone else again," a tear started to slowly make her way down her cheek, "i know it's just what siblings do, but it's not just like that with us! He tries to protect me and the others whenever he can, but it's hard to respect him for that when he's constantly making damage that you have to apologise for!" More tears started pouring down her face as she covered her mouth trying to hold back her sobs. Raph wanted to understand her pain, he wanted to comfort her. He wished he could understand what it was like for her to have to take care of her brothers mistakes, so that he may have been able to empathise with her and understand what would make her feel like bursting into tears.
"I'm sorry...It's selfish of me to dump all of this on you,"Irrilia said through her tears as she wiped them from her eyes. To her surprise, Raph hugged her.
"Well, for the record, i think you're probably the nicest sister I've ever seen," he told her comfortingly as he released the hug and looked at her, "And if Thalos can't see that, then he doesn't deserve you as a sibling," he smirked.
Irrilia smiled looking down, "thanks," she said.
"GUYS, GUYS!"  Vincent yelled through the dojo door, "GET IN THE LABORATORY NOW!" The others quickly rushed to see what was going on, "what is it Vince? What's going on?" Asked Hana looking concerned,
"It's the time scanner!" Vincent exclaimed, "it's found the glitch!"
