"Why did you have to bring him?" I ask, motioning to Caleb.
"Because I did," Tobias snaps. Geez. I look out to see we're by the wall. I jump out with Tris. Soon everyone joins. Caleb tries to run away, but Tobias tackles him. He pushes Caleb forward. We follow them. Soon we meet up with Tori, Johanna, and a few others. Including Christina and Will's older sister. I don't know her name.
"We'll use the trucks part of the way," Tori explains. "Then on foot."
A gunshot goes off. I pull out my gun and aim for those wearing Mom's symbol. For they weren't part of the mission. I help chase them off. When I come back, Tori is laying on the ground bleeding out. I kneel next to her.
"I'll be with him now," she barely says. "I'll be with my brother."
She falls still staring at the sky. Her breathing stops. I close her eyes. She has helped me and Tris so much. And now she's gone. Peter puts his hand on my shoulder.
"Tori would want us to continue," I state as I stand up. We gather in the truck. I sit with Peter in the back corner. The roads become bumpy. I bounce up and down. It eventually stops. We pile out and walk down the broken streets. I mean worse than the former Abnegation and Factionless sections. Buildings are falling apart. And there is a train. I can see it's different than the one I'm use to. First off, there are seats. Also it's built different.
"Put your hands up." I turn to see a red head girl around my age and a man with her.
"Impossible," Tobias mumbles. What?
"How can we trust you?" I ask them.
"Tobias knows me," the man states.
"Amar," Tobias states. "But I saw your body. You jumped into the Chasm."
"It was a set up," he says.
"And who are you?" I ask the girl.
"Zoe," she says. "Tris, I knew your mother."
She hands her a picture. Tris lowers her gun and grabs it. She looks around.
"I think we can trust," Tris states. I lower my gun.
"Only cause of Tris," I snap. We gather in the back of their truck. I sit at the edge and look out. A quick escape when needed. Soon we pass a fence with barbwire at the top. People are everywhere. The truck pulls to a stop and I hop out. I look around.
There is a statue, concrete roads only part way done, and a main building from what I can see. We are pushed that way. They take our guns. I hate them already. Now we can't defend ourselves. We walk through these scanners and they lead us down these halls.
"This use to be an airport," Zoe explains. "Then the Bureau took over and redid it."
"What's an airport?" I whisper to Peter. He shrugs his shoulders. They lead us to a place full of cots. I choose one in the darkest section of the room. Peter lays in the one next to me.
"Our life keeps changing," I mumble.
"But it would be boring if we didn't change," Peter adds. I nod my head. I know he speaks the truth. But I have a feeling that something is about to happen. And I don't know if it's good or not. But from what goes on in my life, I doubt it's going to be good.
I stare at the ceiling. I can see the cracks along the roof. It seems to aim towards the middle of the room. Weird. Why is it like that? I push it in the back off my head. It might not be important. I notice that Tris and Tobias pushed their beds closer together where they can hold each others' hands. I close my eyes and rest. Today has been long and trying.
