Roland was steaming in anger as he pushed Curt into a back room of the library and slammed the door. They were far away enough from where the filming would be to where he was sure nobody would hear their conversation.
"Curt, what the hell?" he hissed as he glared at him as crossed his arms over his chest. His slick-backed haired friend followed his lead and smirked at him. "If you thought that there was some awkwardness between Delilah and I, why did you think that having her play my love interest in the Head Over Heels music video would make things any better?"
"You and Delilah have some unresolved tensions that you need to work out before things can get better. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it." Curt then placed his hands on his hips and stared at Roland for a second. "This will be good for you guys, actually all of us. I promise." He was about to walk out of the room when Roland grabbed him one last time.
"I-I just hope that I don't make a complete fool of myself," the aggrivated Roland said with a sigh and then a shake of the head. To that Curt turned around and softened his originally rough expression. "She's just..." Roland paused nervously and then glanced up to see Curt's encouraging smile directed at him. "She's just the only woman that has ever made me nervous. She's the only woman who can paralyze me with a look." He sighed and looked off dreamily. "The only one who can release me with a smile." Curt then grinned and placed a hand on Roland's shoulder.
"And that, my friend, is what love does to you." Sending him a grin Curt then walked out of the room leaving Roland to his thoughts.
                                ...

"Tell me again why Nicky can't be the one to do this?" There Delilah stood being fussed over by the makeup people and hating every second of it. Nigel was about to answer but then Nicky interrupted in her usual fashion.
"Because Delilah," she nearly spat out her name like a cuss word, "I'm part of the band and no band members can be filmed seeming like they are in a relationship. It'll spread rumors. Besides, I'm already in a relationship. I don't want people thinking the wrong things." She then rolled her eyes and walked over to her place where she would sit for the majority of the video. Rolling her eyes back at her, Delilah ignored the comment and began to try and psych herself up for the task she had to do by thinking I can do this. I can do this.
It was then right at that time that Nigel yelled, "Alright people. Time to start rolling. Roland, we're ready for you." Releasing a shaky breath, Delilah looked down as she smoothed out her knee-length black skirt and adjusted her fake glasses. At that moment, she almost believed that she could accomplish this task, that she was brave enough to do it. But in a millisecond, one split second that changed her mind, she looked up to see Roland walk in with a long black trench coat, tight blue jeans and a brown satchel slung over his back. His eyelashes were outlined in eyeliner and his lips shone with a soft hue of pink. Staring at him in deep admiration, she could not move, could not breathe, could not see clearly. Oh my goodness, he's gorgeous, she thought dizzily. To that, she desperately tried to push away the feelings, but the thought would not leave her.
"Delilah, over here," called Nigel which forced her to yank her eyes away from him and walk over to where he positioned her behind a large desk.
"So, for this scene, and actually throughout the whole video, I want you to glare at Roland like he's the most annoying man on the face of the earth, ok?" In distracted agreement, Delilah nodded and watched as Roland walked up to the desk where she and Nigel stood.
"And Roland, I want you to stare at Delilah like she's the most beautiful woman you've ever seen in your life ok?"
"Got it," Roland said with a nod.  "Not going to be a problem." Startled by his unexpectedly flirtatious comment, Delilah's mouth popped open and she smiled at him coyly. It was then that she knew that if anything, she herself was head over heels.
                                ...
The rest of that day was extremely long and tiring. The video took three long takes due to set problems, the monkey acting up and Delilah consistently tripping over her own feet due to her inability to walk in heels. Despite all of this though, it was the most fun Delilah had ever had in her life.
There all together, the chemistry between the whole band created laughter and happiness between them all that lasted throughout the duration of filming. It all went to fast though. Before she knew it, they were driving away towards the hotel in which they'd be staying for the night before they headed off to their next destination, Paris.
It was later that night, Delilah walked out onto the porch which surrounded half of the outside of the hotel. Staring up into the sparkling stars deep in a daydream, she did not even hear footsteps walk up behind her.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" She heard a familiar voice that made her smile. Turning around, she was met with the kind greenish-brown eyes of Roland.
"Yes, very," she answered never taking her eyes off of him. Coming up to the edge of the balcony next to her, Roland looked up and said nothing for a minute or two. "You did very good today," blurted out Delilah suddenly, making him jump. "Your acting was excellent... and so was your song." Smiling at the compliment, Roland looked down at her and somewhat blushed.
"Well, I wasn't that good, I'm no actor or anything. But you..." he looked at her with shining eyes. "You were amazing. Ever thought about going into acting?" It was then Delilah's turn to blush.
"Nah. I'm in college trying to get a profession in writing... even though I'm not doing so well in it right now." Feeling surprise at her random confession, Delilah quickly peaked at him from under her eyelashes ony to find him watching her intensely. She decided to continue talking. "I mean geez, you and Curt are only a few years older than me and you already are worldwide stars while I can't even get out of my parent's house." Looking down at the ground, Delilah all of a sudden felt ashamed of herself. She had always promised herself that she would leave home as soon as she turned 18. But yet, a year later, here she was, still stuck. "And with the way I'm going, I might never leave." At that, Roland scoffed and shook his head. She braced herself, expectant of a down grading comment.
"Look Delilah, I know that you might not believe this since we only met five days ago but you are one of the most talented people I've ever met." She looked up at him in surprise. "I mean, you can act, kick butt at chess and sing. You're a triple threat." For a second she didn't know what to say, but something he said caught her attention.
"Wait, how did you know I could sing. You've never heard me..."
"Yes I have. I heard you singing to yourself yesterday when you thought nobody was around." As Delilah gave him a disbelieving look, Roland blushed again. "But seriously, you are incredible and with your talent, you will make it big enough to not only move out of your parents' house but also buy a house for yourself." And with that, Roland did something that Delilah never expected him to do. He placed his hand gently on her own and squeezed before pulling away. "Now if you will please pardon me, I must get some sleep." He then began to walk away but turned back around and surprised her for the last time that night. "Oh and Delilah?" She whirled around to face him.
      "Yes Roland?"
"Happy birthday." With that last word, he then left as Delilah stayed outside with her wandering thoughts. And then it hit her. How did he remember that today was my birthday and that I could play chess well? He wasn't there when all of that happened and I know that Curt or anyone else didn't tell him about it either.
Suddenly, a thought then came to her which made her smile a smile that could light up the night time.
He was listening to us. All that time that I didn't think he cared about what we were doing he was listening to us from the other room. With a happy, satisfied sigh, Delilah then took one last look up at the sky and then walked into the hotel with a dreamy look in her eye.
