Camila POV
I feel beads of sweat begin to form on my forehead as I move my fingers in and out of the gorgeous girl in front of me.
"This good baby?" I ask as she arches her back and moans. I'll take that as an enthusiastic yes.
My phone rings at the side of my queen sized bed and I roll my eyes.
"One sec." I say to her and put my fingers that are freshly out of her in my mouth and wink. I pick up the phone to see "No Caller ID". I cautiously press the green button and put the phone to my ear.
"You're through to Camila."
"Hello Miss Cabello, sorry to bother you at such an hour. You have been requested by a patient here at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Psychiatric Ward."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"Yeah... can you give me two seconds?" Without hearing an answer I put the phone on mute.
"Hey Hannah, I kinda need you to leave."
"Are you fucking serious Camila? If you're serious this isn't happening again." The blonde says angrily.
I shrug. "I can handle that."
She storms out collecting and putting clothes on as she leaves. I unmute my phone and put it back to my ear.
"Hello, are you still there?" I sit down on my ruffled sheets and bite my thumb nail.
"Camz?" A small voice comes from my phone.
"Hey, you doing okay?" Silence. "Lauren?"
I sit and wait for what feels like forever. Was she okay? It has been six months since I saw Lauren lying in that hospital bed looking... well, not like Lauren.I kiss her grey looking forehead, no longer her gorgeous vanilla skin. I stroke her cheek. She's been like this for nearly two weeks. Weak, emotionless. She stirs and I quickly take my hand back.
"What are you still doing here, Camila?" A groggy Lauren says to me as I sigh.
"I'm looking after you sweetheart, remember?" My patience with her was unfortunately wearing thin. I loved every single part of Lauren Michelle Jauregui, but this was tiring. Pretending like we were never together, pretending like she didn't even know me.
"Why do you give a fuck? You left me in the first place."
"But I came back Lolo..." Tears form in my eyes as I have has this conversation with her at least once everyday since she woke.
"Just go."
This one I hadn't heard.
"You don't mean that Lauren." The tears suddenly roll down down. "We'll get through this together darling."
"I mean it. Leave Camila, I don't want you here."
That broke me. I felt as though my heart had been ripped from my chest, and every drop of blood had been drained from within me.
I couldn't even say anything. I looked down at her, but she wasn't looking at me. She stared at the hospital ceiling and looked like she had never even known me.
I hesitantly got up from the seat I had hardly left in the last two weeks and got my bag.
"Don't come back.""Um... Hi." A more confident voice emerges. "I asked the nurse here to call."
"I know."
"I'm getting out."
Lauren's mother told me that another two weeks after I was told to leave her in the hospital, Lauren was transferred to a psychiatric hospital to help with her mental health and keep her safe from herself. She has been there ever since.
"Oh, that's great news, I'm happy for you Lauren."
"Thank you."
Another moment of silence.
"Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but why did you call?"
"Can you come and get me?"
I go to immediately say yes, but something stops me. I was trying to get over her, hence Hannah. But why? After all this time, why would I bother? Yes, she was suffering immensely with her mental health, but there is only so much I can take.
"I don't know, Lauren."
A small sniffle comes from the other end of the phone. "Please Camila. I know it was shitty, but I hardly even remember it."
"But I do. That's the thing. I remember it. Me. Sometimes I wonder if you ever did care."
"If you come and get me, I will show you. I will make it up to you. I have changed; I'm not the Lauren Jauregui you knew last year. I'm the Lauren you met at the start. I'm back to being me, I'll show you Camila. Give me another chance, please."
"I mean..."
She says something I can't quite hear.
"I can't hear you Lo."
"Camila, I love you."
