The Era Of Old Beginnings

Chapter 5

I was nervous at first but seeing this strange girl dodge and take down a full grown man In Mere seconds surprised me. She was really flexible to. Still as I looked around me I couldn't help but contemplate on escaping. Even if I did escape where would I go? I have a feeling that I'm not even home anymore. But still... sighing heavily as I glanced up at the girls brother I grew curious.

"How old is she? I mean she looks no more then 19 and yet she's taking on men half her size."

He scoffed as he leaned up against a tree speaking calmly.

"If you must know she is 20 years. She has lived along time without a mate. And now that she has finally found one she will do anything to prove her worth to you."

20? So she's 2 years older then me.

My eyes caught sight of familiar purple eyes hiding in the village just a few meters away.

"I have to pee." I tell him calmly as I stood up onto my feet as I kept myself covered.

"There's the woods right over there. Don't go far. If you even think about escaping I will hunt you down. And you won't be able to hide because I already have your scent memorized. As does my sister."

I couldn't help but feel timid. He wasn't serious was he? Shaking my head I make my way towards the woods and when I was sure he wasn't looking I made my way towards the village where I approached Indigo who appeared to be looting peoples stalls.

"Stealing is wrong you know. You of all people should know that." She tensed as she looked towards me before going back to her task.

"I need medicine for my sister."

"Sister? You never told me you had a sister." She stood abruptly taking me aback as she got into my personal space.

"I have never met you before and yet you speak to me as if you know me. Who exactly are you."

"You really don't remember me?" The confusion in her eyes made my heart ache. How could she forget about me?

"Sigh. My name is Brianna, Bree for short. You and I where best friends. What I don't understand is how you could put me here."

"What are you talking about? I have never seen you before. I would remember if a beautiful girl like you ever crossed my path."

Pacing back in fourth feeling flustered I couldn't help but ask the question that's been repeating in my head like a broken record label.

"What year is it?"

"Year? Hmm. If I had to give you a specific year I'd say 10,000 maybe 9."

I froze as her words echoed around me. 10,000? Wait. The saber tooth's, the mammoths, that strange animal I didn't recognize before. The Vikings?! It all makes since now!

I was panicking. My breathing became heavy and my head became light headed.

"Hey. Are you ok?"

"I-I'm not supposed to be here. Where not supposed to be here. Indigo please. We have to go home to our time!"

"Our time? My time is here."

I couldn't understand her. Her time is here. What did that even mean?

"HEY!"

Looking over I see the queens brother making his way towards me with a fowl look on his face.

"Who where you talking to just now?"

Looking back Indigo was gone. Where did she go? I still had so many questions. But most importantly why was I here?

"Hey." He grasped my arm tightly forcing me to turn around as he looked straight into my eyes.

"I'll ask again. Who. Where. You. Speaking. To."

"Nobody. What's it matter anyway?" I tried my best to lie but I could tell he seen right through it.

"Because you smell like death."

"Huh?" He suddenly picked me up throwing me over his shoulder making me squeal in surprise. The fight suddenly stopped as everyone including the queen who was fighting for me watched in amusement as I flailed in his arms.

"PUT ME DOWN!"

"I will as soon as I get the smell of death off of you."

"Brother."

I hear the queen suddenly speak gaining my attention as he vaulted in place. She spoke again but in there language.

All I recognized was the word death slipping from this mans lips making the queens eyes narrow as she flicked her hand making him continue.

As he traveled towards what looked like a high water creek near I panicked.

"Wait!"

"No waiting. You stink."

He spoke sternly as my life flashed before my eyes as he through me into the water.

I can't swim...

This creek was deeper then I thought. As I felt my lungs once again begin to fill with water I begin to accept my fate until a blurry figure approached me from above.

Indigo?

As the person got closer I could make out familiar golden brown eyes as they grasped my hand tightly.

It was her.

As she pulled me out of the water I couldn't help but cough and gasp as the water escaped my lungs. During my coughing fit I could feel the queens warm hand rubbing up and down my back as if she where trying to help get the water out.

Laying down on the cold hard ground I begin to relax which is when the queen stood up marched up to her brother and punched him.

It surprised me. Didn't she give him the ok to throw me in?

As she walked back towards me she gently picked me up bridle style which is when I felt her warmth radiating off of her. How was she so warm when she to is soaked?

Either way I couldn't help but nuzzle into as to try and gather all the warmth I could get.

Still. Even though I knew what year I was in how is it that I remember who Indigo is but she cannot recall who I am?
