Kenzie is too young to understand the full story though. She didn't know why her daddy left her and mommy. Whenever she would ask her mom would always say daddy is away. Y/N doesn't know where Keith is or what's he's been doing, but she prays every night that he's ok.

The little girl was in her kindergarten class coloring her pages that her teacher gave her. The other kids at her table were talking about what they're parents do.

"What do your parents do Kenzie?"

"Um my mommy use to work at Denny's but now she works at a doctors office."

"Cool, what about your dad?"

"I don't know my daddy."

The table got silent.

"If it makes you feel better Kenzie I don't know my mommy or daddy either I'm adopted."

"What's adopted?"

"I get taken care of by a new family."

"That good your new family must be fun."

It was the end of the day and Kenzie was on her way to the car line since her name was called. She runs up to her mommy's car opening the door. Y/N was maxed that she hopped in her car seat and buckled up all by herself.

"Hi mommy!"

"Hi baby did you have a good day at school?"

"Yes I did well kind of."

"Why just kind of?

Y/N stared at her daughter through the rear view mirror as she pulls out the school's parking lot.

"Well one of my friends ask all of us what our parents do and I said your job and then they asked about my dad but I said I don't know my daddy. It's ok mommy I don't really feel sad because Darren told me that he's adopted so I have someone who feels how I feel I guess."

"That's good that your friends tried to make you feel better about your situation."

"Yeah! Mommy can we go to the Chinese buffet."

"Of course my sweet pea."

Once she stops at a red light she pulls out her phone sending a text to somebody.

Keith was nervous because he didn't know how his daughter was going to react meeting him. He waited by my cashier looking out the door to see if they were coming yet. Soon an SUV pulls up and a little girls hood out of it. Y/N opens the door and Kenzie runs up to the cash register waving at the lady. Her mother walks up to Keith giving him a hug smiling at him. Kenzie was confused to who this man was and why was he hugging her mommy.
