by the time richie got to the lecture hall, bill and stanley were already sitting there. in the normal seats, stanley had his laptop up with a pair of sunglasses that richie didn't know he had. richie nervously sat down on the side of bill that was not next to richie. bill furrowed his eyebrows, but continued to trifle through his textbook.

"you okay" bill muttered to richie, who clearly looked like shit.

"yeah. 'm fine. tired."

richie unzipped his backpack and silently pulled out his laptop case. stan sighed.

"oh, also, rich, can i confuh-fuh-fess something to y-yuh-yuo-you

"duh"

bill swallowed his doubt and guilt.

"i think i luh-like mike. "

"oh shit! "

"yeah. don't tuh-tell anyone. espuh-pecially because i just g-g-got out of a r-ruh-relation-shi-" bill cut himself off, seeing beverly come up the stairs towards their row of seats.

beverly stood uncomfortably, thinking about several things. first of all, she had been considering the awkward tension between sitting next to a couple with her ex boyfriend. secondly, now there was a new problem thrown into the equations. the aforementioned couple were not even sitting together, so now she had to sit next to her ex-boyfriend in between two boyfriends.

what the fuck?

"uh, okay, good morning losers," bev mumbled as she shuffled through richie and bill to get to her seat.

"muh-morning bev," bill muttered, the other two being silent.

it wasn't entirely awkward between bill and beverly, but this current situation and tension was not going great for them either. beverly pulled out her laptop and placed it close on her lap, only to text bill right next to her.

beverly: what the fuck is happening

bill: i have absolutely no clue but i am very uncomfortable

beverly: why aren't they sitting next to each other

bill: and why is stan wearing sunglasses

bill: and they didn't show up together either

beverly: weird. do u think they broke up

bill: well they seemed fine yesterday right

beverly: yeah they were really lovey-dovey before stan went inside yesterday

bill: weird. weird as hell

beverly raised her eyebrows at bill. he shrugged.
