Y/n's POV

"Vacation?" I already live at home and work there was with more free time than anything. Sitting down and eating lunch with higher authority but friend, hearing that I can be funded an actual vacation sounded ridiculous. They could use that money for other things that could benefit others and/or the business itself.

"It's..best you don't question it. This is not just from the company's share. After all...you still served." Those eyes peered at me as the person they belonged too sipped at their cup of coffee. There was more to say but it didn't need to be said. It was known. There's too much I know that I still take care of on paper. None of it needs to be said aloud at an IHOP of all places. "I suggest you spend as much time there as possible, even if you decide to bring some work with you." Those words were so knowing. It was nothing I could deny without being proved wrong, so I was left silent. "But you better at least get me a souvenir."

"Yeah yeah. As 'formal' as you're trying to be right now in your god damn suit, you can't keep my mouth shut for long, you have had a coffee mustache this whole time." I could see the red rush to their cheeks as they closed thier eyes and quickly wiped off the said coffee mustache with a napkin.

"Bastard..."

"Hey, I could have just stayed quite. I was being nice." I chuckled. They are my friend, they deal with my bullshit. But they also need to learn that talking business this small will never be formal with me. But a vacation.... "Where are you sending my ass off to again?"

----

Why didn't they let me choose where to have my vacation...?  A familiar cool breeze that came from over the salty water was just fresh. As nice as a beach resort is, I could have just went to California to visit Elizabeth, Celeste's mother, or to Texas, to visit her father. Such an awkward place for me to be with the two of them..... But seriously, what do I do here? There's a lot but doing it all alone is kind of.....eh. Maybe he's gotten too used to being around his neighbors at random times. It's been a little while since he's last seen them. He didn't know little was going to become long till now.

"Did they just want to get my ass farther away from them than I already was at home?" Whatever it was, I just began to make my way to where I was staying. A hotel. I would have been worried if they have me a while building to myself. I can barely stand being in my house as it is with how spacious it is. A roommate would be nice... They would probably be done with my shit within a week.... But I don't think I like how quite it is, even with the... beachy sounds outside? I'm gonna loose my mind being here after a while. I should have invited someone to come with me, but I can guess this place is probably really pricey. I can't really keep bitching when it won't change anything so I just decided to get settled. Putting clothes in drawers, shoes out of the way and neatly placed under the bed. But when that was all set and done.... "What the fuck do I do now?" You would think a man with a lot of alone time when at home would have an idea in what to do with more stuff he can now do.

3rd Person's POV

He had overheard that there would be fireworks to kick off the start of summer when the sun sets. It's been a short while since he's seen those exploding colors in the sky. Sitting out during that time to watch them didn't sound half bad either. Y/n would constantly look at the sky to see how much time of day he would have left as he explored the island. He would be here for a while so he might as well take the time to figure out where everything is despide having a map to do that. He felt better having the opportunity of exploring the terrain rather than lounge about. It didn't sit right with him. He saw a hair salon. It's been a little while since he cut his hair. Honestly, he could just shave it off himself but..where's the fun in that? His eyes crossed slightly as he looked up at the strange light blue lock of hair that people have constantly asked if it was natural or not. Maybe he could have it be a different color, just for fun. The idea didn't stick, it just sounded funny to him. How would everyone react to that? But the more he thought about it, the more he thought it would be a good idea to give himself a new look. He's always been all natural after all. No tattoos, no piercings, no hair dye, nada. We don't count scars, it's not like he gained those because he wanted them exactly. With nothing settled on what to do with his hair, he just kept waking and passed the hair salon. He'll think about it another time, maybe he'll stop by another time and ask a hair dresser if they had any suggestions. He doesn't completely know the do's and don'ts of hair other than keep it neat. He knows that appearance is important, you never know who you're going to meet. Passing a building, around the corner came a little girl, running and turning, unaware that Y/n was there and had then ran into him. She took a few steps back before falling on her rear. She could be no younger than 5 or 6. In the summer, you would expect someone to dress lightly, have some skin showing. She was wearing a body suit. It's possible she surfs since that's what they wear most of the time but he's never seen a little kid wear one before. It wasn't even girly looking, it was just black. She was barefoot, her hair was dry but seemed to have been in the ocean earlier in the day with how much of a curled mess it was. It was frizzy. She had light skin that seemed to just now be getting a hint of color, large, round, red eyes, silver hair... He could ignore the matching cat ears and tail she had. A meifwa. But there was something he couldn't ignore, she looked so scared. And when those red eyes looked up at him, he could see her mixed emotions but couldn't read them completely, but he knew enough. He carefully crouched down to her level and spoke kindly with a soft expression.
