"I'll say it again: Blue was never the brightest color!"

Jo aggressively wrote that into her journal before shoving it in her locker and walking to first period. As she sat down, Garrett, her best friend since kindergarten, jumped into the desk next to Jo's, scooted over and whispered:
-" What the hell Jo? What happened last night?"
-" Shut up and leave me alone Gare.." Jo mumbled, looked up and saw Garrett resting his head on his right hand, his left hand was poking her right cheek.
-" I'm not gonna 'leave you alone' until I know you're fine." He said and looked at Jo dead in the eyes. Garrett has very special eyes, Jo thought to herself. His eyes were light brown with hints of green here and there, and his eyelashes! God, Jo would literally KILL anyone to have eyelashes like Garrett's. Although his hair was always in front of his face and partially covered his eyes, Jo would always remember how she was so jealous of him in kindergarten for having really pretty eyes.
-" Well I'm perfectly alright, see?" Jo smiled, sat up straight. If there's one thing she knew about Garrett, it would be that he will NOT leave until he is sure that she's remotely fine.

Garrett squinted his eyes at her before Mrs. Kennedy came in and told him to put his desk back where is it. Jo sighed, took her homework out of the binder and handed it in after the rest of the class did. As she walked back to her spot, Jo quickly glanced at the entire room.

He wasn't there.

'Blue really isn't the brightest color..' Jo thought to herself before sitting down, and Biology continued.
