"alright im gonna go down for some snacks and you can start looking for some sculptures or paintings" michelle said getting up from her king sized bed
im laying on her bed with my head hanging down and joey is sitting on one of the bean bags. i make eye contact with her and smile slightly
"hi" i say as she laughs a bit
"how are you" she asks looking at me again
"pretty good you?" i say as i start looking for my phone that's somewhere on the bed
"im okay" she says softly opening her phone
i look at her to ask why but she's already on her phone so i don't bother
i open up pintrest to find some pretty sculptures because i love pinterest and after scrolling for a while i find a sculpture i like
"heyy i found one" i tell joey getting her attention
"what's it called?" she asks raising her her head to look at me
"nike of samothrace, see its pretty nice" i get up to show her my phone screen

"oh yeah it's pretty" she looks up from my phone "i was thinking we could pick on painting so we have both" i nod my head at her idea and start making my way back to michelle's bed and laying down again
it's been about an hour of us working and talking a bit. i feel something buzz under my stomach so i get up and see my mom calling me. again
i have to pick it up
i sigh without noticing and michelle looks up at me
"what's up" she says taking her computer out of her lap
"it's my mom i have to get it if i don't want her to call the police" i say rolling my eyes and going out of the room to stand in the hallway
michelle's pov
when malakai gets out of the room i feel joey's eyes on me
"they have a really bad relationship" i tell her standing up and sitting on the other bean bag in my room
"her mom doesn't actually care for her to come home she just likes controlling her" i look at joey sighing
she's about to say something but yelling outside cuts her off
it doesn't sound like malakai at first so im assuming it's her mom but then i hear kai rais her voice. she doesn't usually yell only when shes really angry
i see joey starting to get up but i put a hand on her shoulder
"it's okay she normally yells at her" i reassure her
"we should get back to work now" i tell her nodding to myself
after about half an hour the door opens and malakai comes inside. she looks okay but by the looks if it she probably washed her face
"she's such a bitch" she says sitting with her back against the front of the bed. she relaxes her head and it falld back, fitting the wood part of the bed making me wince
"what did she say now" i ask looking at her
"just dumb shit" she says. just that tells me it was bad and she doesn't want to talk about it
after a moment of silence she speaks up again "i think we can finish with the painting today and meet up another time to finish the rest" i nod at what she said not hearing what joey said next. she seems like whatever her mother said made her really upset.
an sorry for the short chapter i just wanted to have a update out quicker due to the support this book has been getting. i love seeing you comment and thank you sm for everything. the book isn't the best but im gonna try to make it more detailed
