(Helga' POV)
"Helga! Wake up girl or you're gonna be late for school!!" My father Robert yelled into my room as he switched on the light. Ugh anther day of school, I really can't wait till I graduate just one more year then I can say good bye to this horrible teenage life. I rolled out of my comfy bed, graded my towel then headed straight to the bathroom. Turned on the hot water in the shower and stepped in. The hot sensation relaxed my nerves, while the mist formed around my body. Ones I was done ,I stepped out graded my towel then began to brush my teeth. I went back to my room finding my older sister Olga rummaging through my closet. "Olga, what are you doing in my closet?!" I ran and pulled her by her arm to move. "I came here to find something to wear for my new job interview, and I found this top." She said while dangling the top in her hand. I groan. Olga came back home from collage for a month just to seek a job. She's to lazy to find her own apartment, so she decides to crash here. I wish she would find a job sooner so the house won't be so noisy. I sigh and folded my arms. " Fine you an wear the top, but ask me first before you rummage through other people closet's." I said with an attitude. She glared at me, then smirked. " Thanks Helga, I mean I don't know why you would keep a top like this. It doesn't look good on a dorky girl like you. Ha!" She walked passed me flipping her blond hair back. I may not be as mean and hatful, back then. But I still stand up for myself when people try to put me down. With that I went to my closet, grabbed a blue plain T-shirt, and a pair of pink sweat pants. As I was brushing out my golden blond hair. I stared to think what Olga said, about me not wearing style up clothes that everyone at school would wear now a days. What I wear now makes me feel comfortable, I don't really want to stand out in what I wear like the girls at school today. I rather feel comfortable. But I was really glade that Olga didn't find my secret area in the corner of my closet. I tied my hair up into a ponytail, then tied around the elastic with a Pink ribbon. After I was satisfied with my look, I grades my glasses case placed it in my book bag. I went over to my closet to the corner, in the corner there was a Curtain. Behind it was a 5x8 framed picture of Arnold. I know what you're thinking, it's kinda creepy to have this. But I was in love with Arnold sense the 4th grade. I replaces the watermelon and junk with a simple classy picture frame. Back then I would constantly bully Arnold, pick with him and call him names. It was the only way I could hide my feelings for him. But years have passed and my love would still continue to grow for him. When high school hit he became so much popular with everyone, now he and Lila are together. Things changed between us. So I decided to keep my distance from now on, it's better this way. Tree years of ignoring someone so dear to you, it hurts a lot. I placed my hand on to the picture, staring at his breath taking face. "Three years Arnold, three years of me ignoring you. I wonder if have you forgotten me?" I said to myself out loud. On the side of the picture, was a golden locket that was hanging from a nail. I grabbed it and placed it around my neck. I smiled as I opened it, there was yet anther picture of Arnold in it.
"Helga! Hurry up or I'll throw you're breakfast in the trash!" Robert yelled. " Okay I'm coming dad." I yelled back. I grabbed my black moccasins, rushed down stairs to find my mother Miriam, my father reading the paper at the head of the table, and my annoying sister filling her nails. I took a seat next to my mother, and began to eat my cereal. "Helga honey, I need you to stop by the market after school to pick up a few things there. The list is on the counter and so is my food card." My mother requested. " Sure mom I can do that."
"Who uses food cards nowadays ,that is so lame." Olga wined. "It helps save money, now stop with the blabbering about it." My father said I almost laugh when he said that, but didn't want him to scold me. I finished my cereal put my bowl up and then headed straight to the door. "Well I'm off." I announced. "Bye sweetie have a nice day." Mom said. "See yea Helga." My father said. With that I headed out the door going straight to the bus stop.
