Ch 15 'The Truth'

(Helga's POV)

"Arnold. Yes, I will be your girlfriend."

It truly was the greatest day of my life. The dinner, the night, his proposal for me to be his girlfriend. My tears continued to flow out of my eyes blurring my vision, Arnold's hand wiped away the remaining tears that feel from my eyes. He caresses my faces in his hand making me look at him in the eyes.

"Arnold, I have to tell you this now.... I have always loved you, from the first day we met on that rainy day to now." His eyes widen a bit in surprise. "I know what you are thinking why I didn't tell you this before....." I said looking down.

"Yeah, even in middle school.... I just assumed you didn't like me because you kept bullying me." He said. Which made me feel embarrassed, ashamed to be exact. I hid my face into my hands. "I was such a coward to bully you like that.... I felt like that was the only way to.... sort of hid my feelings from you to my family, and Phoebe... I regret everything I said all those years. Do you think it would have been different if I did tell you my feelings?" I asked. Arnold gently took my hands away from my face, looked me the eyes and said.

"Honestly, Helga, if you did tell me your feelings back then, I choose you over Lila. Even if you bullied me I still admired you from a distance on some of the adventures, and drama we faced together. I knew, if I had someone with me to fix a situation it was you I would rather face it with." He wrapped his arms around my waist, in response, I wrap my arms around his neck bring me closer to his face. The smell of peppermint and strawberries linger from his breath, sending shivers down my spine. I couldn't help but smile, I feel so much closer to Arnold now than I ever did before.

I rested my head onto his forehead continuing to stare into his beautiful green eyes. "Arnold I really do love you so much, I never want this to end," I said. He chuckles a little bit which causes me to blush even harder. "It doesn't have to end Helga, this is only the beginning... Let me show you how much I love you...."

I looked at him puzzled, but then the unexpected happened. He lifted me up placing me on top of his shoes, he looked me straight into my eyes leaning in his lips on mine. Time stopped around us as I kissed him back. His lips began to gently sway over mine, my lips were overjoyed to feel his that my legs give up. I held on to Arnold running my fingers through his soft blond hair.

I broke the kiss, taking in some air. I could believe what just happened.... Arnold kissed me.... I could help but bit my lip, making Arnold smirk in return. "That was Amazing," we both said at the same time. We both start to laugh. To share this moment with Arnold felt like a dream I would never wake up from. " you're the only person I want to share this with Helga. I love you." " I love you too Arnold" We kissed again, as the pale moon light shine upon us and our love.

The next morning, I felt warm arms wrap around me just like a soft blanket. I slowly open my eyes to see we're still on the boat........hmmm. "WAIT WE'RE STILL ON THE BOAT ARNOLD." I hear him groan as he sits up rubbing his eyes. "Oh, I guess we didn't go back to the hotel. Let's get off, and I'll take you back." Very carefully Arnold helped me out of the boat and onto the sidewalk. We race back to the car hand in hand laughing about what just happened. As soon as Arnold started the car, he mentioned. "I think we were supposed to take a trip to the museum with the rest of the class today," he said. I took out the class trip list we revived before leaving, and sure enough, we do. "Crap it start at 10:00 am we have to meet there at 9:40 am." I panic.

"It's okay we can still make it there. Like I said I'll drop you off so can get ready and I'll wait for you, I know how much you were looking forward to this." I smiled at him, how did he know I was looking forward to visiting this museum. "Thank You, Arnold," I said

We finally arrived at 9:19 which gives me time to quickly jump in the shower, put on my outfit, and a put on a little makeup. I quickly do all that finishing at 9:30 while Arnold waits for me in the sitting area. " Okay I'm ready to go, how did you get ready so fast?" I asked. He smirked at me while taking my hand into his. "I don't know, I just threw on a shirt and pants nothing special and also I didn't want to keep you waiting." I laugh. We get into the car, on our way to the museum.

"Okay class, I want you to stick with your partner for the rest of time we spend on this trip. You're going to be divided up into groups, taking the education, and scenery of the museum. Off your go." Phoebe and Garold were put into the same group as me and Arnold which was awesome knowing Phoebe had studied all the facts about the museum, we'll be able to get a clear understanding of it. "Phoebe I am so excited to learn the history of Rome, it's just so refreshing to learn about, the culture, the food, the lifestyle. I getting all excited just thinking about it!!!" I said holding her hands. She starts to jump up and down. "I know! According to the articles, I read this museum will have wax figures for all the great inventors, and painter. They also have a live reenactment on Pompeii, I really want us to see it at the end." My eyes glowed with even more excitement. Suddenly I felt Arnold's hands on my shoulders. "Hey if you want after the tour and the reenactment, your guys can come meet us at the restaurant downstairs," He said

"Yeah sounds good." He returned the smile, then kiss d me on the cheek. He walks off to the back with Garold and I'm left with a devilish smile from Phoebe.

" I know I have some explaining to do....." I said embarrassed.

"Yes, you do. Did Arnold kiss you're on the cheek?"

"Yes, that was not an illusion. He asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said yes....."

I swear on my life when to say that Phoebes eyes nearly popped out of her sockets, they nearly did. She pulled me into a tight hug, squeezing me to bits. "Oh, Helga I'm so happy for you both I.....Wait a minute!!!!!!!" She froze.

"What.... What's wrong Phoebes?" I asked in surprise

" So he's completely over Lila just like that, how can he get over her that quickly? And why didn't Garold tell me this?" She asked in confusion.

"I know it sounds sketchy, but this wasn't the first time Lila cheated on him Phoebes. After seeing her true colors, he made the decision on completely moving on from her, leaving behind all the regents he's made in then past with her." Phoebe looked, even more, shock and disappointed. "Last night when he took me on that date. He was a whole new person, he's eyes sparkled, he started to smile but differently..... Like he was really happy....... Phoebe, he told me he Loves me."

"Oh Help, do you love him back?" Looked her straight in the eyes. "Yes, I do. I believe his love is real for me. I doubt it's a phase he feeling, but I know for sure he truly does love me."

A/N: Surprise!!! Shame on me right. Ahhh I am such a terrible person to leave you guys hanging, even when I said I wouldn't give up. Well this is my Christmas present from me to you. I apologize for a huge cliff hanger, and for making you wait so long for a update. Slap me if you have to lol hahahah. I promise you this. I have two awesome news for you guys.
1. I decided to update a new chapter of Hey Arnold! every Monday and Friday. Why Monday? Because I believe you should start off your week right with an with happiness, so Monday and Friday will be your days from Hey Arnold.
2. My other surprises are............... I'm releasing two new story's for wattpad. I can only say one story is a Marvel theme, and anther one involves K-pop. If you don't know what K-pop is. It's Korean pop music, if you go on to YouTube there should be some samples. I think you will like these new stories.
