It was the weekend. Nervousness was prominent in the atmosphere for two men in the Suju dorms. One of them, Eunhyuk, sighed in front of the mirror in his room as he meticulously tucked in the sky blue polo shirt into his jeans. After slipping on his white sneakers, Eunhyuk left his dorm room only to run into Donghae who was waiting for him in the main living room of the dorm clad in a white shirt and black jeans with simple white and black sneakers.
"Hello, Eunhyuk-ah, are you ready?" Donghae greeted shyly.
Eunhyuk nodded and the two men left the dorms. Their date was as per the textbook. The two men had planned to go to a dinner and catch a movie that was playing. Although they were trying to not take any risks, Eunhyuk still hoped that nothing would go wrong during the date. Alas, not everything often goes according to a plan. First, the date began going downhill when the two men left the dorms only to be met with a slight drizzle. While Eunhyuk was disappointed, Donghae was calm, "It's okay. It is just a slight drizzle."
Trying to stay positive, Eunhyuk nodded and then called for an Uber to take them to the fancy restaurant that Eunhyuk had booked earlier that week. Once they caught the car and made themselves comfortable in the car, it was awkward in the car. Eunhyuk hurriedly tried to search his brain for an interesting topic for small talk with Donghae, but it efforts was futile because he couldn't even grasp the courage to open his mouth. As a result, for the entire duration of the car ride to the restaurant, Donghae and Eunhyuk only shared hesitant and shy glances at each other while they slowly inched their hands closer to each other. However, before either of them could gather the courage to hold hands, the car lurched into a stop in front of the restaurant's entrance. After paying the fare, Eunhyuk and Donghae hastily made their way towards the restaurant under the drizzle that was slowly getting heavy. Once they entered the restaurant, Eunhyuk made his way to the check-in counter in order to claim his reservation while Donghae waited at the entrance drying the droplets in his hair under the warm blast of the heater.
"Sorry, sir. I don't seem to have your reservation in the system." The lady spoke, her yes on the monitor in front.
Eunhyuk gasped in shock, "Madam, are you sure? I'm sure that I made a reservation here. I can't be mistaken."
The lady shook her head, "I refreshed the page and it says that you canceled your reservation sometime earlier this week."
"Madam, how can it be?" Eunhyuk spoke.
"In fact, it was done during the time we called you as to verify and remind you for the reservation but you said that you wanted to cancel the reservation."
Eunhyuk groaned, "I never got the call though."
"Sir, I don't know what happened and I apologize for that. However, you are interrupting the chances for other customers to get to their tables."
Eunhyuk sighed in futility and thanked the lady before making his way towards Donghae through the crowd of customers. Upon seeing him, Donghae questioned:
"What happened, Eunhyuk-ah?"
"I'm sorry, Donghae-ah. I wanted this date to go so well but now it's terrible."
Donghae moved closer to Eunhyuk and patted his back as Eunhyuk continued sadly, "Turns out someone has canceled my reservation, obviously not me and I'm super confused."
Donghae smiled, "It couldn't hurt if we could change our plans slightly."
"What do you mean, Donghae-ah?"
Donghae grinned and stretched his index finger towards the exit door of the restaurant, almost pointing at a small cafe opposite of the restaurant with an illuminated sign that shone under the rain.
