Chapter 2

"Gabbi can these guys on your own for the next few shifts?" I asked her
"Yes go get into that go to that airport and get to Hawaii," She said pushing me toward Jays truck
I opened the door and got in and went to the airport
"8 h and 15 min flight," I said
"Well have been on carrier plans longer," He said
8h and 15 mins
"We're here," I said
"Yeah and it's night time," Jay said
Soon Juillet was there
"How your flight?" She asked
"Better then 24-hour flight in a carrier plan," I said
"Military?" She asked
"Yeah we both were I was actually in Hawaii for a year when I was Marine," I said
"And this is?" She asked
"Jay Halstead," I said
"The better half," She said
"Yeah," I said
We got into the car and head to Robbins Nest 
"Okay wow," I said
"I know right Robbin has everything," She said
"Oh by the way Zeus and Apollo be careful," She said
"Guard dogs right," I said
"Yes," she said
"That hate Thomas," I add
"Okay," Jay said
"So do you like morning runs?" Juillet asked me
"Yes," I said
The next morning me and Juillet went on a run on the beach with Zeus and Apollo and Thomas 
"Okay that sunrise was amazing," I said
"What are morning runs like in Chicago?" She asked
"Well you can run by the lake or run in the neighborhood next to the apartments," I said
"Oh you guys don't own a house," She said
"No," I said
I walked back upstairs and took a shower and then got dressed and walked downstairs. Thomas was talking to someone 
"Magnam you have a girlfriend," The guy said
"No I'm his sister," I said
The guy soon left 
"Who was that?" I asked
"Detective Gordon Katsumoto," Thomas said
"Why was a Detective here?" I asked
"He kinda doesn't like me," He said
"So he likes you or doesn't like you?" I asked
"Friend but not friend," He said
"So what did you do?" I asked
"GOt in trouble with the FBI helped a fugitive you know also dated this girl at one point was in love with her," He said
"Wait what you were in love with an A FUGITIVE," I said
"I know surprising right," Juillet said
"Yes every," I said
PROV Jay
I heard talking and then the word fugitive I was already dressed  so I just put my gun in my hostler and walked downstair and grabbed Adriana from behind 
"Thomas this is Jay," Adriana said
"What's going on down here?" I asked
"Found out that someone fell in love," She said
I kissed her cheek 
"Okay want type gun," Thomas asked me
"Glock 19 my sidearm that at use at work," I said
"What do you do," He asked
"Detective for intelligence," I said
"Went from Army Ranger to Handsome Detective," Adriana said
"Adri," I said
"Okay you are handsome in both," She said
"How long have to been dating," Thomas asked
"Almost three years," I said looking at Adri she nodded her 
"So both military," Juillet said
"Yep marines and Army," I said
I let go of Adriana 
"So any crazy stories?" Thomas asked as we walked outside
"Oh yes," Adriana said
PROV Adriana
I had to tell the scariest stories from my first fires 
"Oh okay so this was before I was at 51, I had known Jay for 6 months at this time, my first call ever we get called to this massive warehouse fire so I go in not even 6 minutes in the roof collapse on me. Now I start thinking this not a time to panic about what was happening. Then I start seeing flames come close to me so I hit my walkie and start yelling mayday. Not knowing that 51 was there so I hear Kelly start yelling my name my alarm was going and I was running low on oxygen so by the time squad gets to me I'm trying to stay awake, By the time they got me to 61 and I just can't stay awake. The injuries were collapsed lung, 2 broken ribs, fractured collar bone. So this was an all-guy firehouse and so after that, all of 51 did every to get me to 51 after I was , at 51 for 9 months I became squad certified," I said
I was almost crying Jay put his arm around me and wiped the tear that fell knowing that was the day I almost died I walked away from the group and was followed by Jay. I started crying once I saw him 
"Hey its okay," He said holding me close to him
"I know it's just I almost died that day," I said
"I know," He said
We walked back over to Thomas and Juillet, I still had tears falling down my face 
"Hey, are you okay?" Thomas asked
"Yeah," I said
"Some stories are harder than others," Jay said
"So scary calls," Thomas said
"Yeah we have them," I said
"So sometimes there worry whether I will get a call from Kelly or Matt about this one," Jay said
"Okay well you're my emergency contact," I said
"Or when you decide it time to do your favorite hobbies taking a bullet," I said
"No bad guys like shooting me," Jay said
"Sassy are we today?" I asked
"Yeah but you love it," He said
"Hm wait, Jay," I said
"Yep I forgot," He said
"So much flirting," Thomas said
"Sorry we're used to doing it in front of our co-workers," Jay said
"No I get it you get used to it," He said
"Yeah you do we just flirt like it's nothing," I said
"Oh what's funny is the first day we met we're flirting and everyone made bets that we would get together," Jay said
"And who won the bet?" Juillet asked
"Oh people," I said
Thomas got a call
"Oh no," Juillet said
"What," I said
"Don't let him drag you into whatever PI job he just got," She said
"Got it," I said
"Okay hm, so I just got a job so anyone want to go with me?" Thomas asked
"Jay don't you dare," I said
"Don't what?" He asked
"Jay want to go with?" Thomas asked
"Yes," Jay said
they walked to the front of the house
"Dear Will, I'm sorry," I said
"Who's Will?" Juillet asked
"His older brother," I said
"Seem like someone wants to get to know Thomas," She said
"If he gets arrested in Hawaii," I said
"They won't, but we could get roped into this job," She said
"Okay," I said
"But we would just watch and make sure everything goes good," She said
"Is there a shooting rang?" I asked
"Yes," she said
"Good," I said
"So you want to go now?" She asked
"Yes," I said
Went to the shooting range when we on our way back to robbins Nest when Juillet got a call from Thomas and Jay
"Oh this could be good," I said
She answered it
"Higgiy are you near the laptop," He asked
"No, we are coming back from the rang," SHe said
"When you get back I need you to see who this car is registered to the lady kid was kidnapped and the police have gotten nowhere," He said
"Yeah plate number?" I asked
"H11-23L," Jay said
"Yep got it," I said
"So you guys going back to Robbins Nest?" Juillet asked
"Yeah," Thomas said
We hung up
"So we're just dragged into that," I said
"Oh yes," She said
We got back to Robbins Nest and there was a colorful van
"Who that?" I asked
"That would be T.C and Rick," She said
"Got it," I said
We parked the car and got out 
"Rick she taken," Juillet said
"What I was not thinking that," He said
"It was on your face brother," a taller guy said
"And I would never let you date my sister Rick," Thomas said
"And she taken," Jay said
"Okay got it," Rick said
Jay walked over to me
"Are you having issues?" I asked
"Yes because someone looking at you," He said
I punched him in the arm
"What was that for?" He asked
"Why are you cute?" I asked him
"I don't know," He said
He grabbed my hand we walked over to My brother and his friends
"Okay guys this Adriana and her boyfriend Jay," He said
"Well, it's to meet you guys. I'm T.C and this is Rick," T.C said
"Nice to meet you," I said
I helped Juillet take the guns inside

PROV Jay
I was still standing with Jay, Rick, and T.C
"Okay so do the Detevive around not care about kidnappings?" I asked
"No just so mean dead ends with this one," Thomas said
Soon the girls came back out 
"Okay the car is registered to Nate Harison, and he has recorder of kidnapping and harassment, and abuse," Adriana said
"Okay," I said
After 24-hour we had a location of the girl
"Magnam what are doing?" A guy asked
"Detective Katsumoto lets talk Detective," I said
"We know where this girl is and that's something that five-0 wasn't able to do that we did," I said
"I don't see a badge," He said
I heard Adriana coming down the stairs and she handed badge to Katsumoto my badge
"Okay Halstead," HE said
I went in as if I was questioning a suspect
"First it's Detective and lets not me and you here get off on the wrong foot," I said
After a few minutes of telling what we knew
"So I can have my team ready to go in an hour," He said
"Okay," I said
After a few minutes of telling what we knew He then left
"How," Thomas asked
"It's called talking to a cop like your a cop," I said

PROV Adriana 
We got to the place with Katsumoto team and got ready me and Higgins got to the girl who was unconisise I tried to reach for a walkie that wasn't there. My inner first responder kicked in I made sure she was breathing and had pules I didn't care that I could hear gunshots and yelling I cared about the girl
"Juillet I need you to try me fiurger away out," I said
We picked her and head to the door we got to the ground when we heard gunshots again the door opened again and Jay and Thomas came in 
"YOu guys okay," Jay asked
"Yeah," I said 
"We need an ambo," I yelled
"Got it," I heard Katsumoto yell back 
"Thomas I need something to support her head," I said
I heard Ambulance sirens coming 
"Jay go get the paramedics," I said struggling to breathe
"Adri were you hit?" Jay asked
I looked down at the vest that I was wearing
"Yeah," I said
"Thomas grabs the girl she waking up I got Adriana," Jay said
Jay lifted me up and took me outside and took off my vest and touched where the bullet hit my vest I winced in pain
"Yeah that's going hurt," He said
"I know," I said
We walked over to Higgins car he opened the back door so I could sit
"Hey are okay?" He asked
I nodded and put my head in his chest and started to cry he started rubbing my back
"Hey it's okay," He said
"You do this every day?" I asked
"Yeah," HE said
"It's hard, having to give medical attention to hearing gunshots. I did this stuff in the marines Jay why is it so hard now?" I asked
"Because sometimes you forget," He said
"Hey is she okay," Thomas asked
"Yeah just shock," Jay said
We went back to Robbin's nest we went to the room we're staying and sat on the bed 
"We should go down to the beach and watch the sunset," I said
"Yeah," He said kissing my head I grabbed a blanket from my suitcase and went to the beach and watched the sunset and sat there
"Can we join you?" Higgins asked
"Yeah," I said
"I wish we didn't have to go back," I said
"Well Voight would get mad if I didn't," Jay said
After a few days, we're back in cold Chicago
"It's cold," I said
"Yeah nothing like Hawaii," Jay said
"Do think he'll come for my birthday," I asked
"Maybe," HE said
