it's finally your favorite time of the year, christmas. the holiday season was a little different this year though. you had to stay at hogwarts instead of returning home due to your parents taking a vacation that they had planned for a while. you didn't mind spending christmas at hogwarts though. it was peaceful and not to mention beautiful. the forests covered in snow was definitely a sight you'd remember for the rest of your life. you also loved hogsmeade during the winter seasons, everyone there was always so cheerful.
you were sitting alone in the library just going out the window, watching the snowflakes slowly fall from the sky. you were alone with your thoughts until your best friends came up to you to say goodbye for the time being.
"oh what am i going to do with out my y/n?" fred says embracing you while burying his head into the crook of your neck pretending to cry.
you gladly accept his hug and ginny says, "y'know y/n, you could always come to the burrow for christmas! mum would love to have you!", with a bright smile.
"that sounds lovely gin, but i already told my parents that i'd be staying at hogwarts for the holiday. you know how they get." you say giggling as fred still hangs on to you swaying you both from side to side.
"well, remember if you ever need to escape here send me an owl. i've got a flying car." ron says with a playful wink.
"oh merlin, that reminds me i've bought gifts for all of you. its not much but i didn't want you to think i forgot about you!" you say grabbing your bag filled with little boxes.
you hand everyone their boxes and they all open them. you got everyone a locket necklace that on the one side has a picture that molly took of all of you cuddled up asleep on the floor of the burrow the morning after the twins' birthday party and on the other side it has a picture of you all smiling last thanksgiving. the boys' necklaces are in the shape of a dog tag and the girls' are in the shape of a heart.
"aw, y/n! I love it!" hermione says lifting her hair as ginny clasps her necklace on.
"these are brilliant, y/n, thank you!" harry says hugging you.
the rest of your friends say thank you and hug you goodbye as their departure time grew closer. a part of you was sad you'd be spending christmas alone but you knew you'd see your friends in no time.
you begin to grow bored sitting in the library, so you get up to walk around the castle. you walk down the long halls of your school alone, or so you thought. you stop at a window to look at the frozen over black lake when your eyes are covered by unknown hands.
"guess who?" the owner of the unknown hands says.
as soon as you heard his voice you knew who it was. "draco!!" you say spinning around at the speed of light and immediately wrap him in a hug. "what are you doing here? i thought you left already?"
"you really thought i was going to leave my girl alone on her favorite holiday?" he says smiling.
you and him walk around, hand in hand, chatting about anything that comes to mind, until you two end up at the top of the astronomy tower. you're instantly drawn towards the railing to look out at the land. once you have settled by the railing you begin to grow cold and shiver because of the wind.
"cold, love?" draco says.
"just a little." you say turning to make eye contact with your lover. he takes off his jacket and wraps it around you. you're instantaneously engulfed with his scent. once you thank him and turn to look out once more you feel draco's stare.
"dray?" you say turning your head to make eye contact with him.
"hm?" he replies.
"why are you staring at me? look how pretty it is out there!" you say nodding your head at the grounds.
"yeah, it may be pretty, but you're beautiful. i'd much rather spend my time looking at beautiful things rather than pretty things." he says wrapping his arm around you to pull you closer to him.
"oh draco! i got you a gift!" you say smiling.
"you didn't have to get me anything, baby." he says looking down at you with pure love.
"well i wanted to. soooo" you say handing him the box.
he opens it to see a silver ring that has two snakes that create the band. the snakes wrap around a dark green emerald at the front. on the inside of the ring it has in your handwriting "i'll love you forever." engraved. draco immediately takes the ring out of the box and replaces his slytherin ring that he wears on his left ring finger with yours.
"i love it." he says while tears begin to form in his eyes.
"draco, honey, why are you crying?" you say cupping his face and wiping his tears away with your thumbs.
"i just love you so so so much. quite literally love, i don't know what i'd do without you. i just know that you're my forever." he says smiling while leaning into your touch.
"i love you more than you know." you say brining your lips together for a passionate kiss.
"i got you something too." draco says taking a small box out of his pocket. he opens it to reveal a ring that has two diamond hearts at the front. along the band it has smaller diamonds. inside of the band it has the word, "forever." engraved in draco's handwriting. he takes it out of the box and places it on your ring finger. you sit there and admire the ring he got you for a good minute until you reconnect your lips for another passionate kiss. you can feel all of the love you have for each other through this kiss. the seven letter word that was now placed onto your finger was really true. draco is your forever and you're his too.
"merry christmas, love." you say pulling apart from draco.
"merry christmas, darling."
