Raven Lee Artemisia's POV
The three of us looked at each other with confused eyes. Laren and Larex were whispering things to each other and I knew they had messed up somehow.
When we were in the room, mom looked at us, skeptically.
"What did the three of you do when we were not here?" She asked.
"Um, we- we studied." Laren said and Larex nodded vigorously. I sighed. At least come up with something more believable, I thought.
Our mother raised her eyebrows, of course she saw through the dumb excuse my dumb brothers made. She looked at me. I won't say that I was the good one among the three of us, but of course I didn't make lame excuses. But here, I had a feeling she knew exactly what we did so I decided to tell her.
"We were listening to music..." I mumbled. More like blasting music.
"And?" She said.
"And..." Larex whispered.
"And it was K-Pop, we didn't like it much." Laren said and nodded with his eyes closed.
Before I could say anything, my mother laughed. The three of just looked at her, dumbfounded.
"Its okay!" She said, "I just wanted to give the three of you something so I called you here. Look at your faces..."
We looked at each other, then Larex asked, "What do you have?"
Our mother smiled and took out a bag, "Here, for Larex, I have this watch," she took out a beautifully wrapped box and gave it to my brother.
"Then," she continued, "for Laren... wait, where is it?" She started searching the bag.
"Wait, mom- what?" Laren looked sad.
"I can't find it." But when she saw his face, laughed, "Of course I have it, Laren. Here you go." She handed him a big duffel bag.
Lex opened it and exclaimed, "Is this a cricket set, mom?! I- Oh my God, mom thank you so much!" Laren almost burst into tears. Mom patted him. Laren was into cricket, and so was I. But he was a great player, unlike me. I was wondering what mom got for me and then she took my name.
"Raven, for you I have something I bet you did not expect." She said and I waited patiently.
She took out a cuboid box and handed it to me. It was very heavy and I opened it and yelled. Inside was a beautiful big mic, which had a copper-ish colour. It reminded me a lot of the mics BTS used. Did I mention I loved K-Pop? BTS, Blackping, Big Bang, EXO, Seventeen! My life revolved around these and many more!
"Mom, this is beautiful! Thank you so much... Oh, I love you." I yelled with happiness as I gave a tight hug to my mom. "Okay okay enough, I have something more," Mom mumbled.
Both of my brothers ran out while yelling, "Mom you are the best!! We are out!" I and mom were left alone in the room. "this is a book for you to help you write," she said and took a book out.
For a started writer like me, this was one of the best gifts, I could barely keep my tears at bay, "You will make us proud," her gentle feather-like hand reached my head, "We love you dear," she said and patted my head. That was one of the best feelings.
Ping* I looked at my phone and I was given a discord link from TMC, "Mom you are so lucky for me," I yelled and headed out to my room. I logged into my computer and clicked the link. I was so excited for everything, I couldn't wait to learn more.
When I clicked the link, a screen appeared in front of me. Looking at it, I could feel all my senses tingling. Sure, I was not going on a bungee-jumping trip but this was adventure for me. Learning new things, meeting new people and making friends. Yes, people said that you couldn't trust people you meet online, but I was good at reading people. Plus, I was not going to tell all my personal information to random fellows I meet, I was not crazy (well, kinda I am but anyway). I would think before doing.
I started to read, there was a lot to read and I loved to read. But it spun my head to find out so many rules and regulations, I didn't play by the rules much so that was something that scared me, but when I was done with them, I realised they weren't so hard to keep up with.
According to the rules, the first thing I had on my to-do list was: Introduction. I was pretty good at introductions, maybe because I knew myself too well. Still, the intro needed here didn't ask me many philosophical questions about life, just some ordinary things which were too easy to answer. I had to write my name, age, country, genre of reading and writing, the title of my work on wattpad and my wattpad username. I also had to drop the link to my book.
My name, Raven Lee Artemisia. Country, India, I can write many genres, I don't know which to include. The title of my book was 'Flying in Satan's wings.' After writing this, I dropped the link of my book. I decided my username for that server will be, 'Raven Queen', sounded great and felt fancy.
I pressed enter and the intro was sent. I immediately received many welcome messages on the 'chit-chat' server. It was really fun meeting all those people!
Ira: Welcome to the community, Raven Queen! Hope you have a good experience here.
Me: I know I will!
Ira: I will brief you with what to do next, you will be paired up with a fellow writer and you will have two weeks to review each other's works. You must include something you liked, disliked and some improvements. There is still some time in the pairing, we'll let you know when its done. You will be reading four chapters.
Me: That sounds great, I look forward to it.
This was so exciting for me. I had never been in a community before, only a band I had created with my friends before I moved to India. Just then, I received a bunch of other welcome messages.
Pixie: Hey Raven Queen!
Me: Hellp, Pixie.
Lanuma: Hey!! I am new here as well!
Lanuma? That's such a unique name. It instantly fit into my mind.
Me: Wow, that's great!
After talking with some members for sometime, I closed my computer. It felt so good, I was already making friends.
Question of the chapter: What are you hobbies?
A/N: Hey amazing person! Long time no see huh- -R.
