As winter rolled around, that meant the warmish temperature that was present was slowly, or quickly, dropping to be freezing. It also meant more time to be home and stay indoors with your family. There wouldn't be a problem with that if you liked who you were staying with.

____

The once lit room was put into darkness when the lights flicked off. All the students, even the tough ones, jumped in their seats when that happened. The teacher gave a groan and pulled out her phone to use the flashlight. "All of you may use your phone flashlights," She said and walked over to the window to look outside, the students who were near the window doing that as well to look outside.

Jeongin was one of those students and once he looked away from the window, his seatmate asked what the climate looked like. "Really windy," Jeongin said and quickly slipped his fingers under the hole in his jeans to rub his skin, a random habit he had picked up when he got scared. The student gave a hum and switched to go sit with their friends which didn't bother Jeongin at all. His phone, which he was grabbing, vibrated as he took it out.

His phone lit up with a text from Chan who was making sure he was okay. Jeongin answered the text honestly since Chan would probably pry the truth out of him. Chan instantly started to make corny jokes and sent random memes which relaxed Jeongin a bit.

The class was quiet; besides, the mumbling whispers, giggles, and laughs from students who had friends in that class. The teacher didn't bother to teach class since it would be difficult to hold their phone and work, and she also just didn't want to teach anymore.

Keys jingling caught everyone's attention and everyone fell silent. The door opened and the staff member showed their flashlight into the room. "School is done for the rest of the day," They said and everyone cheered, but Jeongin quickly asked Chan if they could spend some time together, for reasons. The senior gladly accepted the sophomore's request, not questioning him in the slightest. Chan asked the male to meet him by the library and Jeongin agreed.

He packed his things up and stood up, waiting for the gossiping girls to walk faster. They finally left the walkway and Jeongin moved out of his desk area and started walking towards the classroom door. He was stopped by his teacher calling him over. He paused, tensing but unsensing quickly.

"Yes, ma'am?" He answers as he walked over. "Is everything going okay at home? Your grades are dropping and you're usually a straight-A student?" She asks and concern and care were shown in her tone. Jeongin smiles through the question and nodded his head. "Yes, my parents have just been arguing a lot but they're figuring it out this week," Jeongin answers, and the teacher gave him a smile. "Okay, I'll be allowing you to do extra credit tomorrow if the power is on," She explains and Jeongin nodded his head. "Thank you, have a good day," He says and gave a bow.

She gave a smile and watched her student leave the classroom before she starting cleaning up.

Jeongin got to the library first, saying how the 10th-grade hallway was farther from the library than the 12th-grade hallway. He texted the senior who apologized about not being there quicker, he had to help a teacher with putting something up. Jeongin said it was okay, but Chan said it wasn't and he was going to treat the male to hot chocolate. He also declared it a date which made Jeongin's cheek turn bright pink.

"Jeongin, hi."

The male jumped and looked at who spoke, smiling at Felix who smiled back. "Are you waiting for someone who's in the library?" Felix asks as he adjusted his bag and his laptop that was in his hands. "No, he's should be coming soon," Jeongin answers, and Felix tilted his head, smiling. "Chan?" He asks and Jeongin nodded his head as his cheeks heated up more. Felix chuckles and ruffles his hair, taking a glance behind Jeongin but adverted his attention back to the sophomore. "Hope your date goes well."

"W-We're not going on a date," Jeongin denied and Felix gave a simple smile. "Sure," He says, and Jeongin saw him glance behind him, again. "Is someone there? You keep looking behind me," Jeongin asks and looked behind him to see nobody. "Mhm? Oh no, the dark is playing with my sight," Felix answers and seemed to glare behind Jeongin but the younger shrugged it off. "Okay."

Felix gave another smile and walked off, Jeongin watching him for a bit. He turned to face the front and smiled at Chan who was walking over. "Hey, hyung," Jeongin said once the senior stopped in front of him. "Hey, you ready for our date?" Chan asks and Jeongin nodded his head. Chan held out his hand and Jeongin took it, smiling as they walked down the hallway towards the entrance.

A group of boys watched them closely with almost disgusted looks on their faces, but it was hard to make out for anyone in the dark light. They didn't say anything, didn't speak any sort of insult towards the soon-to-be couple. They all looked at each other with the same idea in mind, hopefully to each other at least.

The gray sky that already made the world dark outside became darker as the time clicked down to the evening hours. The last two people in the house were now only one as the female of the house had left after losing the argument with the boy who lived there as well.

His room was only lit by his lamp that was shining on the papers he was filling out for Hyunjin, ignoring the figure who was trying to get his attention. He paused and read over everything to make sure it was correct, which it was, so he continued the few more questions he had to answer about the male.

He finished quickly and he smiled, looking at the clock. "It's only at the front of my house," He said, referring to the mailbox that he had yet checked that week. He stood up from his desk, the figure that was behind finally disappearing for the day to give the male a mental break. He grabbed the envelope and he slipped the papers back inside and closed it, leaving his room.

He walked down the stairs in awkwardly comforting silence. The house was pitch black but the small firelight from the candles was making it better, as well as the smell of the house. He inhaled deeply, relaxing a bit from the weird school day that happened. He got to the front door shortly after he made contact with the bottom floor. He slipped on a pair of slides and grabbed the small flashlight he had hanging on the key hanger. He turned it on and opened the door, shivering at the cold, dry air that hit his face.

He walked the short distance to the mailbox and opened it, taking out the mail present before replacing it with the envelope. He closed the mailbox and stood on the sidewalk, aiming the light at the bills and other things as he looked through them. He was about to walk inside when the loud engine of a car driving down the road caught his attention. He could've simply ignored it but he turned anyway, regretting it but also found it smart.

He quickly ducked and moved behind the small brick wall that held the mailbox. The bullet, that was shot directly towards him, flew into the wall of his house and missed him by a few inches. He looked out and shown the light towards the car and quickly read the license plate.

A/n~
Thank you for 1k reads AND followers! It means a lot to me that many people enjoy all of my books and this book also! I also apologize for all the books that I had published and that I had to unpublish for reasons. School is crazy and very stressful so hopefully, during Christmas break, I can get them edited and republished!
