The Eyes

Something was wrong with their eyes.

They held too many mysteries.

They knew when there were lies.

The ice knows all histories.

Something was wrong with their eyes.

Sometimes they were reddish, or a deep dark blue:

Other times rivaling the sunrise

A color I could fall into.

Something was wrong with their eyes.

They saw what wasn't yet there.

Their face is stained, a broken guise

Their eyes had a warning flare.

Something was wrong with their eyes.

I know they saw things I never did.

In events of the future, they were quite wise.

But I imagine this ability they wanted to be rid.

Something was wrong with their eyes.

They knew things no one wanted known.

They knew of this world's demise.

To be a god means to be truly alone.

Something was wrong with their eyes.

They knew what couldn't be spoken.

Life's a wheel, and it relies

On the person whose eyes are broken.
