The Story Behind

Day 1

It was a heavy, gloomy rainy winter night flooding the city drop by drop. Yes it was an unusual weather which was not predicted but expected. Briony hustled towards the empty road which were deprived of street lights. She walked, then she ran as tears flowed like the rain on the road. Something was definitely not right by looking at her soaked completely in the rain.

Someone came running behind her with big steps splashing the still water with the black rain boots. He sprinted towards her blindly without caring that he had ran into a person who had fallen in the puddle of stagnant water. Not a word of apology he ran towards Briony. He stopped her, said few words which seemed like an apology, kissed her in the rain where the water couldn't find any space to seep through their lips.

Fallen man's POV:

'I don’t care! I just can't take this anymore. I have always seen you with him but you give me reasons denying your affair. I knew the truth long back but I held it all in just for the sake of you. Our wedding was fixed and I didn't want you to be the one who will be humiliated. I loved you Anna, I loved you more than anyone in this world but you had to be fooling around with another man.' I said fuming with rage. Anna stood there naked behind the blanket which covered her.

Everything felt like the end. I couldn't believe a thing she said. Her voice kept fading. She tried coming close to me but I couldn't handle her playing innocent all the time. She never accepts and that is what made be hurt with pain i couldn't handle. All I wanted was her to accept it and say it was a mistake and she was really sorry about it. But all she gave me every time she gets caught was a reason which felt like a stab in my heart. Everything was a lie.

I loved her so much and so did she but everything changed in the past few months, since the wedding date was fixed. What might have gone wrong? I have no idea! Was my love not enough? Was i wrong in some way? Why did this happen?

'Scan! Babe listen to me. I had no option but to do this. Why don't you understand me. Look let me explain' she said coming closer to me.

'Stop calling me that! And I don't believe you anymore. It's over. Just stop the acting' I said storming out of the house. I kept walking the long road while it rained like it was also hurting like me and cannot have the tears in anymore.

I was completely drenched now, the hoodie over my head made no difference. When I reached the corner of the street I felt like I couldn't live anymore. I just lost the biggest reason as to why I wanted to live. I guess it was for the best. I was of no importance to anybody for the past 26 years.

My steps grew heavier and I sulked when I saw a girl run pass me. I turned back to look at her when a guy ran through me pushing me into a puddle of dirty water. The water splashed all over my face and I could see that guy had left without an apology. It made me furious for a while until I saw them kissing.  Was that a love fight? I guess it was. He just showed me my place. I don’t deserve love. Its just not for me, it was all my fault that Anna chose another man over me because I didn't make myself worth it.

I went up to the closest building. Pressed the button and elevated to the terrace. The wind was stronger up here. I was ready. I had made up my mind. I climbed up the narrow wall and looked down feeling dizzy. I was losing balance, but I stayed up there still contemplating about my decision.

Nothing to think anymore, this is the only way. While I was thinking I saw a girl walk towards the building frantically. It was Anna. Strangely it made me happy.

' Scannnnn!!! I accept my mistake, please come down let me explain' Anna said at the top of her voice crying her heart out. 'You do?' I asked when the end neared. My leg slipped due to algae which had formed on the wall. I kept going down, I could hear Anna scream 'Scannnn nooo' everything felt unreal. My life flashed through my mind in those 5 seconds.

My head collided with ground and the pain was paralyzing. Anna sat down next to me screaming for help. 'I ..I.. I always loved you. I...I... am sorry' where the last words I said. One wrong decision took my life.

The End.

This was the story behind that fallen guy who just acted as mean to show how desperate the protagonist was, making him an extra, the fallen guy.
