Tears ran down my face. I'm an ugly crier no matter the reason and I was just too choked up to form words. So I just covered my mouth and cried for a moment. Mom watched me with anxiety painted all over her face as she took the paper from my hands.
"YOU DID IT!!" She screeched. "My baby boy got in! Oh my gosh we've got to celebrate, I've got to call your father and set up a video call, we've got to make katsudon, no we need to go shopping for the stuff to make katsudon and then make katsudon, I've got to-"
I chuckle and then sniffle, wiping the tears off my face. "At least I know where I got my rambling problem" I say jokingly, snapping her out of her muttering. She shot me one of her signature motherly smiles full of pride as she practically skipped to the table and pulled out her phone. Probably to call Dad.

Orientation went well, the speeches were a bit boring in the beginning, I'll admit. Can't really do anything about that though. Right now I was on my way to my dorm with mom, two suitcases in hand. The bigger stuff from my room were already dropped off earlier by the moving guys so today I was just going to be unpacking and getting settled.
We get to room 202, I tap my school ID to the pad on the door handle and hear a satisfying click as it unlocks. I walk in and notice I'm the first one here, maybe I won't get a roommate. I heard that happens sometimes.
Looking around, there's a bedroom to my right and another, identical room, to my left. the common space in between is pretty fair. Big enough for a sofa and a decently sized tv. Maybe a coffee table. It's separated from the kitchen by a countertop attached to the wall and the bathroom/washroom door is nestled on the common's side of the counter.
The kitchen and bathroom have bare minimum of necessities, which means me and the roomie(if I have one) will need to go shopping very soon.
I pick one of the rooms and begin to move my boxes into it, getting ready to unpack with my mom.
"Are you sure you don't want your comic memorabilia Izu? I know how much you love it all. I could bring some by later this week." She offers.
"No, I'm worried it'll be too distracting for studies and stuff. It'll all be safe at home though, but thanks mom" I give her a happy smile as we finish up unpacking my stuff.
She turns to me and wraps me up in a tight hug. I'm pretty short for a guy my age so she buries her face into my shoulder, light sniffles following. "You be sure to take care of yourself, and don't forget to eat enough and get enough water, call me at least once a week to tell me how you're doing" she sniffles again "and come visit as much as you can. I'm going to miss you, my baby boy"
I rub comforting circles on her back as I give her a reassuring squeeze. "I will mom, thank you so much. I don't know what I'd do without you" I whisper to her.
And with that, she takes her leave, both of us teary eyed. I know she's going to worry, hell I'm going to worry. But I know we'll both be just fine.
I make my way to my bed and flop back into the mattress, taking a deep breath.
'I did it, I'm really here'

Shinsou's POV
I make my way to my assigned room, unlocking the door and walking in. It's quiet, one bedroom door is closed, so I'm guessing my roommate made it here first. Shrugging I take my suitcases and my duffel bag into the open room and begin unpacking as I hear a door open and close.
I look up to see a rather short guy with wild green hair, cautions green eyes, and freckles dotting his pale face. The black strip running down the center of his lips contrasting with all of it pretty nicely.
I give him a straight faced nod, which earns me the brightest smile I've ever seen in my life. "Hey there! I'm Izuku Midoriya, I guess we'll be roommates!" He says with a good bit of energy.
'Oh god, I'm way too tired for this'
"Hitoshi Shinsou, and yep. Looks that way" I say flatly and focus back on Unpacking my things. I don't have much, I'm a pretty minimalistic person.
To my surprise he just walks away. He didn't seem offended by my dry response or anything. Maybe this won't be so bad.
...
I finish up getting everything out where it belongs and walk out of my room, finally taking a look around. The whole place is empty aside from a microwave.
As if he read my mind the green boy pipes up from his room, not quite shouting, "Hey maybe we should go shopping sometime soon. We have all week to settle in before classes start, and we at least need food for a while..."
Nodding to myself "Yeah you're right. Maybe we could stop by the mall, get food and some basic furniture."
He walks out of his room and looks around, nodding in agreement. "You free today? I have nothing better to do and I'm bored." He almost pouts.
I notice he's a whole head shorter than I am, and he's a lot more calm that I first thought he'd be. Couldn't hurt to go out and shop for the dorm with him, he seems relaxed. "Yeah I'm free, we can go now if you want."
