Laughs don't last forever

Chapter six: Christmas

It's been two months since we started Hogwarts. There's a quidditch game today and I'm sooo excited! I've never been to one before, Malfoy was only excited to go see Harry play. We went to the quidditch field right after breakfast, it was freezing but lots of people were there.

We sat there for an hour before the game actually started. The game made much more sense after I saw it in person. This boy named Jordan was narrating the game, (he wasn't very good at it, he called Angelina Johnson attractive and got in trouble with Mcgonagall. He was also using muggle sport references, Ron and Jordan began arguing over what a red card was) Fred and George are beaters, they are pretty good at their position. Oliver is a keeper, he is the captain of the team I guess. The game had been going for like an hour and then out of nowhere Harry's broom began spinning in mid-air, he almost fell off his broom he was just barely holding on.

Everyone was watching, scared for Harry's life (even Draco forgot to pretend not to care about Harry) no one noticed that Snape's robe caught fire. When  Snape put the fire out Harry got back on his broom and caught the golden snitch(Harry is a seeker).

The evening passed by quickly, Draco and I went to my dorm and watched Grey's (Watching this show on saturdays became our thing). During dinner the Gryffindors were being loud and they were celebrating their quidditch victory. Everyone was chanting "Harry" even some of the Slytherins, with me included.

Everything was normal for a few weeks, and it was nearly Christmas break. I woke up one morning and Slytherin lost 150 points but Gryffindor had lost 345 points. The Gryffindors were now in last place for the house cup. Of course the people who lost all the points were Draco, Harry and surprisingly Hermione and Neville.

"What Happened Malfoy?" I  asked. He answered kind of ashamed "Harry and Hermione played a prank on me but we got caught by Mcgonagall." "What do you mean?" I was intrigued. "They made me think they had a dragon. I thought I saw it once but I guess they're just really good at pretending. T-That's what I get for wanting to call a truce." He said whispering and avoiding eye contact. He looked really sad so I didn't mention it again.

Everything was harder for Harry and Hermione no one was talking to them other than Ron and the twins. I felt kind of bad but they did hurt Draco. I'll ask them why they pranked Draco later.

Today is the last day of classes. I am going to stay, unlike a lot of students. Flying class was canceled due to the snowy weather. So after Charms and Transfiguration Draco and I went to watch Grey's and then to the library. After that we went to dinner and that's how that day ended.

The next morning I was woken up by Draco. "Goodbye, Happy Christmas! Mum and dad are here.(They refused to let him get back on the train with the rest of the students)" He handed me a small gift and I gave him a hug. He was almost out before I said, "Oh wait Here. Try not to miss me, I know it will be hard!" I said in a teasing manner while I handed him the gift I got him (It was a copy of the Hunger Games). We hugged again and then he ran out of the dorms. I went back to sleep.

I woke up at 10 (it was too late for breakfast) and I headed to the Gryffindor common room. I was determined to ask Harry what happened and give them they're gifts (My family, whoever they were, left me a lot of wizard money).  

Fred opened the door and was surprised to see me, "Uhh hello Lylah." "Hullo, can I come in?" I asked, my ears turning red.  He swung the painting open and let me in. " Oh uh, this is for christmas." I gave him two gifts (one for George and one for himself). "Thank you," he said, blushing very lightly.

Inside the common room I found Hermione watching  Ron and Harry play wizard chess. "Hullo Lylah" They all said, Hermione got up and hugged me. I gave them they're gifts after I greeted them. "I have to ask. Is it true that you guys pranked Malfoy? Because, he just wanted to call a truce and..." I stopped because I realized I was talking quickly and I didnt know how to continue.

They looked at each other and then Hermione began, "Well you see we weren't pranking Malfoy. There was a dragon and we were trying  to get it to Ron's brother, Charlie. It's a long story and you can't tell anyone, Please!" I looked at them before saying, "ok, I won't I promise." "Thank you" Harry said trying to change the subject.

After that we just began talking about the holidays until Hermione had to go. I left with a pile of gifts (I don't think I've ever gotten a christmas gift from anyone I've met).

The next week was a blur. I spent my time at the gryffindor common room and the library. On Christmas I opened all my gifts, Hermione got me a 'Complete History of Hogwarts' book, Ron and Harry got me sweets that I'd never heard of before, Fred and George got me some puking pasties and tongue growing toffee. When I opened Draco's gift I saw a beautiful silver bracelet with some words inside, "I'll Always Be Here For You-D.M" I read out loud with a smile on my face.
   That night the boys and I pulled an all nighter in their common room, I taught them the charm Bulstrode showed me and we watched muggle-made Christmas movies and told each-other stories.
