Laughs don't last forever

Chapter seven: the test

The break was finally over Hermione and Malfoy were back! I was so excited that night I didn't sleep at all. When I heard the train coming in I put on a red turtleneck with some jeans and fuzzy boots. I ran to the Main Entrance and waited with Harry and Ron, when she walked in, Hermione ran to us. We were in a group hug, "Thank you" was all she said.

I waited for Malfoy to enter, but he didn't so I just sat next to the door reading 'The Complete History of Hogwarts'. Hours must have passed because it was getting dark when he finally entered. "Hello. Miss me much?" Draco said smiling. We hugged and he told me he was late because his parents didn't want him to leave till' dinner time. We went to the Grand hall because it was dinner. The second I started filling my plate with Brussel sprouts when Hermione told us to go to the Gryffindor common room after dinner.

"So what did you guys do while we were gone" Hermione asked us, filling the silence of the warm Gryffindor common room. "We watched Home Alone and other christmas movies" I replied "Yeah we also played Exploding Snap and Wizard Chess. We also did some research about Nicholas Flamel" Ron said watching Hermione closely. Harry didn't say anything he was staring at Draco and Draco was looking at the floor playing with his fingers. "You, mean the creator of the Sorcerer's stone?" Draco said not even bothering to look up.

Hermione opened her eyes wide and ran out of the room, Ron and Harry followed. Draco and I just sat there then we laughed for a long time. "So what did you do?" I asked, still smiling. "Umm I was with Dobby and then there was a family dinner like every christmas. Then there was a party at our house with people from the ministry, very... formal." He answered looking serious.

After nearly an hour of waiting for them to come back we went to my dorm and shared Berties Botts over our favorite show. I guess we fell asleep because I woke up the next day with the show still playing and Malfoy on the opposite side of me. "Wake up were going to be late for potions!" I tugged on Malfoy's shoulder.

We ran out not even changing our clothes and made Snape's class barley on time. I was uneasy after Snape announced that we would be taking an end of the year test in thirteen weeks. This test will determine if we come back to Hogwarts next year.

After hearing this information I began to study non-stop I know we still had a long time but, you can never be too prepared. Hermione, Draco, Ron, Harry and I began a study group during February. We were not as prepared as we thought but we got better. Six weeks later we could say the 12 types of dragons, the effects of an amortentia potion, the exact date quidditch was created and many other things.

Today we had our test. I was extremely anxious and nervous so I kept playing with the bracelet Malfoy gave me.

Once I saw the test I was a bit relieved, it was sooo easy there were also hand on questions. Snape made us do a forgetfulness potion (Luckily I had practiced and improved on my potion making skills), McGonagall had us turn a mouse into a snuff box and Flitwick told us to make a pineapple tap dance!

After i realized how ridiculous I was being about the test (since it was the only thing I thought about for three months!) I was just about ready to sleep till May (which wasn't too far from now). Suddenly Harry Gasped and the three musketeers (Just kidding Ron, Hermione and Harry) ran out of the library. "Where are you going!" I shouted after them " I don't know I'll tell you when we get back!" shouted Hermione still running out. I would've gone after them but they were long gone before I stood up from my seat. "Shhh!" Hissed the librarian.

Not part of the story: I know this was a bad chapter but it will get better I hope. Lol hope you enjoy
