Opening my eyes, they are met with the light bleeding in through the windows.

For a moment everything feels normal and I'm blissfully not re-living the unfortunate events of last night.

Except now I am because now my brain has so graciously decided to remind me.

After Lucy and I got to my apartment last night she quickly fell asleep on my couch and I hobbled my way over to the kitchen to make some instant noodles.

What? I was hungry And my ankle was still hurting like a bitch.

I haven't heard from Dominic at all, I thought maybe he would have texted me to apologize, but after looking at my phone I'm met with the disappointing realization that he hasn't.

I'm still in disbelief over the way he acted. He got so angry so quickly and was too stubborn to listen to me explain the situation.

After sitting in my bed for a few minutes with the memory's from last night playing in an unstoppable loop in my brain.

I finally decided to get up and check on Lucy.

I'm still limping for the injury I sustained last night but it's a bit better today, I seem to be able to actually put a bit of weight on it.

My vision is met with Lucy and her blonde hair sprawled out on my couch, she hasn't even woken up yet.

Spoke too soon because my phone starts ringing breaking the peaceful silence that was present moments before. Lucy is shaken and quickly opens her eyes to the interruption.

Walking over to the kitchen counter to glance at the screen — It's Dom.

I know I should answer and talk to him about what happened. I know that's the mature thing to do.

But I simply don't want to speak to him. I will eventually of course, but at the moment I'm just not in the right headspace.

I walk over to the phone and mute the incessant ringing without answering.

"Sorry." I turn and offer my apologies to a disheveled-looking Lucy who's looking at me from the couch.

"Dom?" She questions already guessing as to who would be calling me this early.

"Yeah, I just can't talk to him right now."

I answer back as I direct my gaze to the ground.

"I'm starving, do you want some breakfast?"

"Do you even have to ask?" Lucy answers chuckling at my question as she gets up from my couch walking over to my kitchen island to sit on the stool opposite. She looks at me up and down with a concerned expression.

"Wait how's your ankle?" I see her face contort with concern as she asks me.

"Yeah it's quite swollen but It's slightly better than last night," I mumble and walk over to my freezer to grab some frozen hash-browns.
