Chapter 2 - Elena

3rd Person POV

Scarlett hears the door open the the house and she gets up from the couch and check to see who is there.

“Hey”Stefan says coming into the house and she looks up at him. “What was school like?”She asked him. “It was alright”Stefan says. “Did you meet new friends?”She asks him. “Yeah I guess”he says. “What’s that?”She asks him looking at a book in his hands.

“Oh this is Elena’s diary. I have to give it back to her. I got to get going”he says. “Can I come?”She asks him.

“Sure. Yeah. Come on”he says smiling at her and she grabs his hand and they walk to Elena’s house.

They go up the stairs and stop at the door when Elena opens the door and lets out a gasp, “Oh.”

“Sorry, I was about to knock. I wanted to apologize for my disappearing act earlier. I know it was...strange”Stefan says.

“No worries. I get it, blood makes you squeamish”Elena tells him. “I’m, something like that”Stefan says.

Elena looks down and sees Scarlett and she raises an eyebrow at Stefan. “Is she your little sister?”she asks, smiling down at Scarlett.

“Uh...something like that”He says and changes the subject, “How’s your leg?.” “Oh, it’s fine. Just a scratch, barely”Elena says

“How did you know where I lived?”Elena asks him. Then Stefan gives Elena her diary and she thanks him and goes back inside.

“Uncle Stefan?”Scarlett asks. “Hm?”he asks. “Why didn’t you tell her I was your niece?”she asks. “Uh...how about around other people you tell them I’m your cousin?”he asks. “Ok”She tells him and Elena comes back out.

“Sorry, we’re you going somewhere?”he asks her. “Yeah, I’m meeting a friend. Do you want to come?”Elena asks him. “Can Scarlett come too?. No one is home and I don’t want to leave her alone”he asks. “Yeah of course she can come”She tells him.

Scarlett’s POV
We get to this place called Mystic Grill and go inside. I am holding Uncle Stefan’s hand and I look to see a girl with brown hair and a guy with blonde hair looking at us.

Do people just stare at people here?

My mom tells me that staring is impolite.

The guy with blonde hair comes over to us and tries to introduce himself.

“Hey, I’m Matt, nice to meet you”Matt says to Uncle Stefan and Uncle Stefan shakes his hand, “Hi, Stefan.”

“Hey”Elena tells him. “Hey”Matt says.

“Is this your sister?”Matt asks uncle Stefan. “Uh...no she’s my uh, my cousin but I take care of her”Stefan tells Matt.

I am sitting on Uncle Stefan’s lap since there aren’t enough chairs on the table.

So, you were born in Mystic Falls?”The blonde perky girl says.

I don’t like her very much.

She’s just so loud.

“Mm-hmm. And moved when I was still going”Stefan says. “Parents?”The girl with brown hair says. “My parents passed away”Uncle Stefan says. “I’m sorry. Any siblings?”Elena asks.

“None that I talk to. I live with my uncle”Stefan says. “So she’s not your sister?”Bonnie asks him. “Uh, no she’s my cousin. I take care of her”Stefan says. “How sweet”Caroline tells him.

“So, Stefan if you’re new, then don’t you know about the part tomorrow”Caroline tells him.

She is trying to flirt with him.

I don’t like her. She’s acting to flirty and perky.

“It’s a back to school thing at the falls”Bonnie tells him. “Are you going?”Stefan asks Elena. “Of course she is”Bonnie tells him.

We get into the house and Uncle Stefan tells me to go upstairs and brush my teeth and I listen to him and go.

Once I am done I change into pajamas and start walking to Stefan’s room when I hear Zach and Stefan talking.

“This was an animal attack”Uncle Stefan tells Zach. “Don’t give me that. I know the game. You tear them up enough, they always suspect an animal attack. You said you had it under control”Zach says and I furrow my eyebrows together.

What does he mean?.

“And I do”Stefan tells him. Zach whispers something to Stefan and I couldn’t hear and he leaves the room and I go in.

“Uncle Stefan what was that about?”I ask him and he turns around.

“What do you mean Scarlett?”he asks. “I heard what Zach told you”I tell him. “It’s nothing Scarlett. Don’t worry. Just go to bed”He tells me and leave to my room and close the door.

That was weird.

I know what I heard.

He said tear them apart and that they think it’s an animal. I don’t really understand that much of what he was talking about.

And then Uncle Stefan says it’s nothing.

I don’t believe him.

Whatever it is I’m going to find out.

I turn the lights off and go lay down on the bed and once my head hits the pillows I go to sleep.
