Monday
Entry 3Dear Fe,
I am not to win any rewards to myself for keeping up with you, but since the first of November, we ate like kings. Also, Layla has gotten herself a new ribbon for her hair, extremely rare to find nowadays and fairly expensive. She's worn it from morning to noon.
Amelia has been growing suspicious on my whereabouts, as I've been simply going to Mr. Allegro on money issues, but I've got the same right to know why she's staying at work an hour or two after her shift is over. South has been seeming totally unaware that she's been gone. She could be having an affair for all he cares. With her not here for just a few hours, it's like vacation.Yours Truly,
AvianaI slam my journal shut. Amelia's actual work hours would end now, but of course, we just wait. The sound of someone rummaging in the kitchen fills my ears. I race down the stairs to see, by miracle, if it is was Amelia.
South. He was eating the leftover chocolate cake."Sorry, did I wake you?" He said with a full mouth.
"Uh, no," I respond. "Can't sleep?"
"It's like my brain has been struck by a lightning bolt and it has gone wired," he says.
I grin, tucking my black hair behind my ear.
"Whenever I hit my head on the pillow, my brain decides to do one out of two things, one is to sleep, and the other is to think of every little thing that has ever happened to me," I said.
He laughs. His voice sounds deeper now, it being eleven o'clock.
"That's true. There's this something about the darkness that leaves mysteries unfolded, and then there's me, to brainstorm the baffling ideas in my head. Does that make sense?" asks South. He, for once, was being himself. I admired his open thoughts.
"Right, totally," I coughed. "Yeah."
He smiled at me and ran his hand through his brown hair. My face grew hot."I'm going check on Layla," I said quickly, turning around.
"Goodnight," he says.
I smile. "Goodnight."~
Entry 5
Dear Fe,
I am awful.
I, Aviana, am an awful person. For the thought of just keeping Amelia safe, it seems impossible. Keeping South safe seemed like hell.
Gruesome murder that my family is unaware about would kill them, no pun intended, but I'd hate to say that the last person I'd want to find out right now is South.
Yes, Fe, judge me, you damn inanimate object.
I hate myself for it. But I can't help it.
I should probably get some sleep, though I've tried too many times.
But goodbye for now, Fe, even though you may never want to read my embarrassing words anymore.Goodnight,
