The Unbreakable Vow

        Narcissa Malfoy's P.O.V.: -

        I was very worried about my son Draco, when he was assigned the task by the Dark Lord. He was too young, just a boy. Not even of age. At least the Lord could have given him a year. But no, now he was just like his father. I needed help, my son is not a cold-hearted person like his father, he has feelings hidden inside. I don't think he would have agreed, if  the Lord had not threatened to kill him or our whole family. Personally from what I heard from Lucius before he was taken away to Askaban, I understood, that only Harry Potter's cousin sister - Aria Petrova could control his dark side, and personally I wished she was here rather than at her home in Bulgaria. 
        Bellatrix and I apparated to Spinner's End, a place outside London, where Severus lived. It was raining, and tall grass tossed dreamily in the rain. I walked and turned around a distance. My sister Bellatrix Lestrange apparated after me. 
        "Cissy". hissed Bella. She hissed my name three times, but I ignored her. A group of children passed, as we hid against a wall. I then moved away from the wall as I made way through the maze of dilapidated buildings.
        "Cissy! You can't do this, he can't be trusted." said Bella.
        "The Dark Lord trusts him." I replied back.
        "The Dark Lord is mistaken." said Bella. She dared to say this even when she is a follower of the Lord himself! Both of us were shocked by her words. "Or so I believe." she modified her reply.
        "Well, who can one trust these days?" I said knocking at the door. Wormtail opened the door and let us in. We followed him into the hallway.
        "He lives in this Muggle dunghill?" said Bella, as Wormtail glowered over his shoulder looking at my sister, leading us into the sitting room. Severus sat there with his nose inside the Daily Prophet newspaper, as it had the title of HARRY POTTER: THE CHOSEN ONE? on it. He put down the newspaper, and shoved Wormtail inside a room with a flick of his wand, "Run along Wormtail." said Severus. He filled three goblets with wine offering us, one each.
        "I have  no where else to turn to Severus." I begged him when my sister interupted.
        "You must be joking. You should be proud Cissy that the Lord has chosen Draco for his work. If I had sons, I would happily give them to serve the Lord." she said proudly. But now, was not the moment of pride, it was a moment to protect my son. Severus, smiled slightly as he sensed the seriousness of the atmosphere.
        "I know I ought not to be here. The Dark Lord himself has forbidden me to speak of this -" I said when he interrupted me.
        "If the Dark Lord has forbidden it you ought not to speak of it." He looked another way as he continued,"Put it down Bella, we mustn't touch what isn't ours." Bella put down an object on his mantelpiece."As it so happens I'm aware of your situation, Narcissa."
        "The Dark Lord told you? You? " replied my sister.
        "Your sister doubts me, Narcissa. Understandable.Over the years I have played my part well. So I've deceived one of the greatest wizards of all times." Bella snorted, making a scathing noise."Dumbledore is a great wizard. Only a fool would question it."
        "I - I don't doubt you Severus." I said trying to calm down the situation.
        "You should be honoured, Cissy. As should Draco -" said Bella.
        "He's just a boy!" I protested.
        "I can't change the Dark Lord's mind." said Snape, "But it might be possible for me to help Draco.To provide some protection." Bellatrix eyed him keenly.
        "Do you mean it?" I asked seeing a ray of hope for my son.
        "I can try." said Severus.
        "Oh, Severus, please. If you would.........I would forever be in debt of you." I said.
        "Swear to it." said Bellatrix as Severus eyed her challenging eyes."Make the unbreakable vow." He looked away."You see. It's just empty words." she said trying to provoke him."Oh he'll try. He'll give in his best effort.But when it matters the most he'll slither back into his hole. Bloody coward.." Snape's eyes flashed with anger.
        "Take out your wand." he said in a monotone, taking Bella by surprise. She froze as our hands linked together.
        "Will you, Severus Snape, watch over Draco Malfoy as he attempts to fulfill the Dark Lord's wishes." I said,
        "I will." he said, as a single red strand of liquid fire went around our linked hands like a snake.
        "And will you, to the best of your ability, protect him from harm?" said Bellatrix.
        "I will." said Severus, as another strand of fire, intertwined in our hands.
        "And should it prove necessary, if it seems Draco will fail...........will you yourself carry out the deed that the Dark Lord has ordered Draco to perform." said Bella.
        "I will." said Severus, as a last strand of fire intertwined our hands, sealing the vow.
