I Send a Prayer

  • Dedicated to To all those children who died in conneticut

I sit back, a silent tear of disbelief

How unfair, I can't believe...

I cry for those caught in grief

I can't stop myself, from imagining those little ones

Expecting another winter day

Always thought there'd be another rising sun

And just like that, a cruel moment past

Their lives cut short

Their futures thrown to the trash

Little children, I cry for you

Who were writing letters to santa

Just this morning. cruel man, how could you?

Did you not see their eyes?

Crying out for your mercy?

Did it not take you by surprise?

When you saw them lying there.

Dead on your hands

Did you even care?

I feel my heart break

As I think of the parents,

So much for them to take

Just from one choice made

I shed a tear

As I think of their smiling faces walking in

Comeplete without a trace of fear

They were so unsuspecting, so beautifully innocent there,

So to them I bow my head

And offer a silent prayer.
