Zakeyah's POV
I nervously ran my hands through my curly, brown hair as I stared into the mirror. It was ten past seven and Justin said he was going to pick me up at seven.
My hands moved from my hair and ran down my dark blue, slim fitting dress. I really went all out for this date because it wasn't just any date. It was mine and Justin's fifth year anniversary and I really wanted to look special.
I was beginning to think it was a waste of time since Justin hasn’t showed up yet. He is normally early which is why I have been criticising my appearance for that last half hour. It's simply not like him to be late. He probably forgot.
I sighed and moved from the hallway towards the dark lounge room and flicked a light on. My cat, Tikka, jumped on the couch as I sat down.
"Hey chicken tikka masala," I sighed as she climbed on my lap, "Looks like it's just me and you tonight."
I picked up the remote and flicked through the channels before I heard a knock on the door. Tikka quickly jumped off my lap and ran to hide; she is not a people person.
I opened the door to come face to face with Justin who stood with a grim look on his face.
"Sorry I'm late," he shrugged his shoulders slightly as he pulled a bouquet of flowers out from behind his back.
I smiled at him, just happy to see him," It's fine," I giggled slightly as I accepted the flowers.
We walked in the house and I put the flowers in a vase of water.
"Are we staying here tonight or going out?" I asked as I turned to face him.
"We're going out somewhere special," he flashed me one of his infamous grins, "Couldn’t have my girl having anything un-special on our special day."
I laughed and nodded as I took the hand he offered to me. He guided me out the house and towards his flashy car. After being such a gentleman and opening the door for me, we pulled off towards the city.
Twenty minutes later we were stood outside the front of one of the tallest building in the city. Darkness was the only thing that surrounded us as there was nobody around this part of the city.
"Are we going in here?" I asked.
"We sure are," Justin replied.
It confused me since there was no restaurant in this building. Hell, the building closes at night.
"Why are we going into this building?" I laughed but frowned when I saw him trying to pick the lock of the building, "hold up, let me rephrase, why are we breaking into this building?"
"Just wait," he said as he put his focus on the door. I looked around nervously as I waited for him to pick the lock.
