Warnings: Angst, gore, blood, death, demons, vomit (maybe),
In this AU, certain people have a demon in them, basically a version of them, but without morals. This AU is not my idea, not sure who made it for Dream, but Dream’s demon is called Nightmare (So creative, right?), and Technoblade’s is Odol, which basically means “blood,”

When Dream starts feeling sick, he knows why. It’s always the same thing. He is one of the few people in the world whoever has this problem. And when he says few, he means few. It is estimated that there are only 4 or so people who have these kinds of demons in the world.

And it just happened to be now that today was the day all four of those people would begin the process of allowing their demon-selves to overtake them.

He cursed his luck as he curled up into a ball of pain on the floor of his bed-room, one of his closest friends right outside his door. He had a trash can beside him, prepared for the same awful feeling he got every time the transition took place. He tried to stifle the pained noises he was making, tears streaming down his face, but sobs still shook his body quietly. For some reason, he felt different than usual. It’s almost as if his body was forcing it to happen even faster.

A few knocks sounded on his door, a voice speaking, but he couldn’t understand.

He sat himself up shakily onto his knees, as bile rose in this throat. Next thing he knew, his stomach was heaving up his breakfast and stomach acid which burned his throat. He prayed in his mind, prayed that the man outside his door would not hear his suffering, that this would be over.

He let out a load groan, not being able to hold it in. However, there was no response from the man who had just been knocking. Time blurred as his vomit turned into dry-heaving, his sight not yet being regained, the tears streaming down as his body ached. He felt like he was dying.

His stomach finally stopped, yet the pain did not go away. At least he could lay down and rest now.

His eyes fluttered closed, losing consciousness even though the pain was yet to leave him be.

When he woke up, he was in his bed. He could still feel the pain in his body, but it was much subtler. Every movement he made was slow and careful as not to reawake the monstrous pains he felt, before. Eventually, he finally made it to his doorway, peeking out into the living room.

There was a pink-haired man laying on his couch, curled up in a similar way to how he himself had fallen asleep. Dream forced himself to go back to his bedroom and get a blanket off of his bed to cover the other. He was beginning to lose control of himself, but this was nothing. His morals were slipping from his fingers, and the light pain he had been feeling when he woke up was only going to worsen as his body adjusted to the power that came with his transition. It broke his heart, imagining what would happen if he hurt the sleeping man.

Placing the blanket over Techno, gently, he walked into the kitchen to check the time and make something to eat.

“3 pm?” He thought as he looked at the clock on the stove. “I slept for 24 hours…”

He felt so bad for ruining this weekend. Techno had flown all the way from California to spend the weekend with Dream, but he had already wasted it. He cursed Nightmare in his mind and wished he could just put a stop to this already. Once every quarter-year, at a random time, his body would take 2 days to prepare, then he’d lose complete control of himself for 24 hours. Nightmare was basically him, but without morals. He would kill, steal, and hurt people he loved, all in search of killing the other three demons in the world.
