"That's not how you would word it." I shake my head and he drops the pencil, getting irritated. "Hey, it's okay, it's a common mistake. It's just a double negative, which causes it to cancel itself out."

I write the sentence the way it should be formatted and his jaw drops. He turns to me, glancing at my lips before looking back up at my eyes.

"That's it? That's all that I had to write?" He asks and I smile, nodding.

I've been tutoring Calum for around two weeks and he has more potential than I would have thought. I open the text-book again and flip through the pages, searching for a new problem for us to work on when the table shakes.

I look to my left to see Zen staring at the two of us with wide eyes. Their hair is a mess and if I didn't know them I would assume they were crazy.

"What are you-" I quietly ask, seeing as we're in a library, when they interrupt me.

"Dawn is mad at me because I kept putting pieces of paper in her hair again." They laugh and I roll my eyes.

"Well, in case you couldn't tell, I'm busy." I gesture towards Calum and Zen nods.

"Yes, I see that, I'm not going to bother the studying." I stare at them with a blank, unamused expression before turning to Calum yet again.

"Okay, so we are going to work on number seven next, try writing it down the way you think it should've been formatted." I hand him the pencil when the table shakes again, Dawn now accompanying the empty seat that Zen left between the two of us. "Could you two please go somewhere else?"

My question is ignored by both of them as Dawn stands up abruptly, knocking me out of my seat.

Before I can make contact with the ground, Calum grabs my arm, catching me. I look over at my two best friends rolling around on the ground and sigh. I stand up and walk over to them as Fable enters the library.

I hand Dawn to Fable and hold Zen, staring at the two of them angrily. Before any of us can speak, the bell rings, signalling for us to go to class. I let go of Zen and turn to see Calum already gone, my books still on the table, next to a note.

"𝐴𝑙𝑜𝑟𝑎,
𝑊𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑦 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒, 𝑦𝑜𝑢'𝑣𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑢𝑠𝑦 𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑙𝑦. 𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑘 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡𝑟𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑝 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ.
-𝐶𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑚"

I sigh, folding the note and placing it into my pocket. Of course this has to happen right when I think things are going good.

"Mom, I'm home!" I open the door to the old trailer and walk over to the kerosene heater, lighting it.

It's getting closer to thanksgiving, meaning it's getting colder. My mom and I have never been too wealthy, anyone knows that, but it's been harder recently with graduation coming up. I walk towards my bedroom and put my bag onto my bed before walking to my mom's room.

"Mom?" I knock lightly, not receiving an answer, so I slowly push the door open. "Mom, I robbed a bank and need help hiding the bodies I collected along the way."

I approach her bed and notice her sleeping quietly. Fine, I'll hide the bodies myself.

I walk into the kitchen and spend a few minutes looking around before my mom enters the kitchen.
