The Power of Music

Foreword

  To whomever finds themselves reading this,

       Music has long since been a method in which people express themselves. We find a song that just seems to perfectly describe the way we might be feeling or seems almost as if it was written about your life. As if the artist understands you on a level much deeper than you possibly understand yourself.

       We find ourselves within each word, losing ourselves in reality. We tune into the music to tune out the world or things around us. We blast it in our ears to drown out the hidden struggles- the nagging voice that is in the back of our heads taunting us. It's our sweet escape. The drink of cold water on a sweltering summer day. The beat drums like our hearts, the words serenade our souls- luring us in like a sirens call.

     We influence others and others influence us, just as we are influenced by the music. There is a song within everything and a song within us- we set the tone of our song and its up to us not to let others change the melody.
