***Chapter 4 is for BlueAkuma. I DON'T OWN BLEACH. Side pic is Ama. I'm not really sure what else to say. Wow, I'm really a sucky person to have a conversation with. Okay ignoring my horrible social skills, I hope you enjoy this chapter.***
"So how are you enjoying school, Jun?" Rukia inquired. It was currently lunch break and Rukia, Orihime, and Rangiku were settled around Jun's desk chatting with the little spirit. Jun nodded their head in response.
"I like it. The people are nice. School's fun." Rangiku laughed a little weakly.
"Ah ha ha ha, I think you're one of the few kids who would say they enjoy school. Although Jun, honey, please avoid starting a brawling ring every time Ikkaku challenges you to a fight." Ikkaku has started forming the habit of entering skirmishes with Jun when they're both bored. In Ikkaku's defense, Jun started it. Yoroichi had shown Jun a video of other high school students on some app and it looked interesting enough that Jun let Yoroichi convince them to try it out on their classmates. What Jun watched was a student running straight into plastic wrap around face level after passing through the classroom doorway. Since Jun didn't want to accidentally hurt anyone they just decided to only crack open a confetti machine, courtesy of Kisuke, on the first person to walk through the door. It seemed like good fun and Jun thought it would make people laugh. It sort of did.
Ikkaku ended up being the poor sap that walked through the door. Jun turned on the confetti machine, almost spooked the soul out of Ikkaku, who in turn used his wooden sword to impale the machine after gracefully falling flat on his face from the surprise. Kisuke decided to fine Ikkaku. The next day Ikkaku jumped Jun saying that it was their fault that he was now in debt to Kisuke of all spirits. Ikkaku was initially just trying to rough him up as payback and in his own way, establishing friendly camaraderie but he quickly found out that play brawling with Jun was fun. Jun had no officially teachings in battle so their fighting style was probably one of the most inelegant styles any of the Shinigami had ever witnessed in their careers. At least Ichigo held a sort of underlying grace with his fighting. Jun's style was effective though. Jun was an all out street brawler, using any advantage they saw to gain the upper-hand in in some of the most unorthodox methods. They would definitely never win a regulated match if they went into one but they sure knew how to go down fighting. Obviously against Ikkaku, who was more experienced in battle, Jun lost most of the time but every now and then they also won a battle. They learned from their mistakes quickly and always threw Ikkaku for a loop in the next fight. In some ways, it was kind of like training for Jun. It helped that neither party was taking the fights that seriously. It was just good fun to tire each other out. There was currently a betting pool going around the school on when the next one will be and who will be the victor. It was honestly quite enjoyable to watch and it broke the usual monotony of every day life.
Orihime coughed into her hand, she and Uryu were actually the ones hosting the betting pool. No one besides Kisuke had to know though. "So Jun, are you understanding the school work? I know it must be a little hard but since you're so smart, I'm sure you'll get it eventually." Switching topics seemed like the best bet at the moment.
"I understand nothing." Jun stated with no pause in breathe before taking a bite into a sandwich.
"....What?" Maybe they just heard Jun wrong.
"I don't know what the teachers are talking about at all." Jun seemed more occupied with the state of their meal than the possible state of their grades. Rukia slammed her hands on the desk making a few people turn their heads in surprise.
"WHAT!!??" Jun watched Rukia, tilting their head in complete lack of understanding as to why she was upset.
"Do you mean it's hard to grasp all the new concepts?" Orihime asked in an attempt to calm Rukia. Jun just shook their head.
