The Fortune Cookie

Chapter 1 ~ First Day

Hey guys! I hope you enjoy this modern day story about the big six! Be prepared for a lot of stuff! I'll repeat the description and start with the story. Also, I'm reposting this story so if you already read these parts read them again because I may have added some things.

Elsa's POV

Everyone got a fortune cookie as the waitresses put them on the table. It was tradition to us in our little group that we're supposed to eat Chinese food on everybody's birthday. We read our fortune cookies out loud for good luck. Rapunzel opened hers and read it out loud. "You can make your own happiness." Rapunzel smiled and shoved the cookie in her mouth. Jack opened his and read it.

"People are naturally attracted to you." Jack smiled but turned it into his famous smirk. "That's true, every girl loves me." Everyone laughed as Hiccup started to read his, "Never give up. You're not a failure if you don't give up."

Merida smiled towards him and opened hers, "You learn from your mistakes...You will learn a lot today."

Jack chuckled and exclaimed, "Mistake Merida coming through!" Merida punched him on the shoulder, he shut his mouth and I stifled a laugh.

My sister Anna read hers next, "A dream you have will come true." I smiled at her and she ate the cookie.

"Your turn Elsa!" Rapunzel beamed as I took the cookie, I broke it in two and grabbed the white little slip. When I was about to open my mouth, I stopped dead in my tracks. I read the slip again and again in my mind.

Rapunzel looked worried. "Elsa, what does your say?" I couldn't open my mouth, I thought fortune cookies were supposed to say good things.

"Um...it says, D-don't be afraid to...let it go." Everyone looked at me weird but decided to drop it. I thanked them for that. I kept thinking about what the slip said...'Your life is in danger. Say nothing to anyone. You must leave the city immediately and never return. Repeat: say nothing. ~H' And another weird thing is that it was initialed with the letter H.

I heard a loud beeping noise as covered my ears with my pillows. The noise didn't stop so I felt around and threw my clock to the ground. I smiled as it turned off and I went back to sleep. A minute later someone barged into my room. That person started jumping on my bed. "Elsa! Wake up! It's the first day of school!" I pushed her off and put my blanket over my head. Ugh, the first day of school. Anna fell with a thump and pouted. "Elsa, come on!" There was complete silence, I was glad she left...but Anna wouldn't give up that easily.

"Ok Elsa, you can sleep all you want but i'm driving your car to school!" I opened my eyes as soon as she said the word "car". I saw her jump off of the floor and she ran down the stairs. I leapt out of bed and ran to the bathroom. She still had her pj's on so I had time to get ready. There is no way that Anna is going to use my new car I got for my 17th birthday two months ago. As I brushed my platinum-blonde hair I thought about what would happen in my senior year. I couldn't believe I got this far in life. I smiled at the thoughts, my sister Anna beginning freshman year. She turned 14 one month later after my birthday. I braided my hair and brushed my teeth. I got out of the bathroom and went back to my room.

I looked for some nice clothes to wear. The first day of school is important so I have to dress to impress. It really mattered because my friends and I are like the most popular kids in school. It really didn't matter for me if I was popular or not. The kids at school just sorta chose us. The one that really enjoyed the popularity was Jack. He's the guy that every girl at school wants, he was the player but he settled down and confessed his love to me which I was so happy about.

I chose a nice light blue shirt with a white skirt. To top it off, I put a brown belt around my waist. For makeup I put on some eyeliner and pink lip gloss. Simple but pretty. I popped my lips and went down the stairs. I found Anna walking into the kitchen. We both said hi to our parents and sat down to eat breakfast. Anna had a similar outfit to mine. She had on a colorful shirt with a light purple skirt and a dark purple belt. Her hair was in two buns, one on the right and one on the left. She had on light makeup as well.

Anna and I got out of my car and walked towards the school. Anna was going to be part of our group now. She just started high school today and I was happy for her. We saw Rapunzel and ran towards her.

"Punzie!" We both screamed and hugged each other. Rapunzel was our cousin but we also considered her as our best friend. We haven't seen her for like one month and a half!

"Girls, it's been long!" Rapunzel was 18, older than me. We walked and talked all over school looking for everyone else. I saw Hiccup and Merida talking. The girls and I started walking towards them but when I turned the corner someone grabbed me.

They put their hands around my eyes, and spoke. "Guess who?" I heard Jack's husky voice boom through my ears.

"Chris Pine?" He turned me around and pouted like a little baby. Oh boy, his gorgeous blue eyes make me melt every time I look at them.

"Pshhh, Chris Pine?! I'm waaaay better than him." His minty breath filled my nose. I leaned into his ear.

"Of course you are." I whispered and gave this 18 year old a kiss on the cheek. We walked towards the rest of the group. Merida looked like herself today, not wearing any "girly clothes" her mom made her wear. Her spunky, crazy, wild red hair bounced each time she spoke. She had her famous wristbands she liked to wear everyday. I hugged my 17 year old best friend.

Then there's Hiccup. 18 years old. We call him adorkable (Dork + Adorable). He's always reading. Lately, he's so into dragons. He thinks they exist or they might've. I hugged him as well. We all looked at our schedules to see what classes we had together. We only had two classes together and for the rest we were separated. We all walked together to our first period. I knew we were going to have an amazing year, but then I remembered...the fortune cookie.
