Aphmau's POV:
It's been a few months since I first came to live with Luka. I'm now three months pregnant. It's been three months since I have seen my husband or my old friends. I met some new ones though. Luka, as much as she appreciated the company, had urged me to move out before the second trimester of my pregnancy. Something about not doing too much work and getting more rest in the last two trimesters. Anyway, I'm moving in with Katelyn and Kawaii~chan. Katelyn had been looking for a new roommate and we get along so she offered the room to me. During the months with Luka, she taught me how to function as a normal human being. I knew how to do taxes and such but I had never really lived in normal society. I learned that people here said Irene instead of Thor. I guess she's some sort of deity here. Anyways, I fully move in with those two today. They know my cover story and have offered to pay expenses while I'm on leave for my job. Luka had told them that she was paying for me since we were family. That took a lot of convincing since the girls knew who her father was. She managed to just shrug it off and say that I was her cousin on her mom's side.
"Aph?"
I looked over at Luka. We were currently in the moving truck, heading over to the house I would be living in. I didn't have a car since I didn't actually know how to drive so I relied on Luka to take me everywhere.
I smiled at her, "Yeah?"
She quickly looked over before returning her gaze to the road. "Just making sure you're still with me. Katelyn and Kawaii~chan both took the day off of work to help you move stuff in so anything you don't want them seeing, you need to grab first."
I nodded. "Alright, I think the box with my memory crystals and photos is near the front."
"Good," Luka smiled slightly, eyes not leaving the road. "You're also banned from anything but boxes. Me and Katelyn can get everything else."
"I'm literally not even showing yet but okay." I snarked back, rolling my eyes.
She sighed. "I know. It's better safe than sorry though. You have all of the appointment dates saved on your phone's calendar, right?"
"Yeah, you're picking me up for them, right?" I asked, receiving a hum.
When we arrived, I conceded to Luka's rule and only took boxes. Katelyn was actually ripped so I didn't feel too bad leaving her with the furniture. I stored the box with my memories of the past in the closet while the other boxes went in one corner of the room. I did manage to convince Katelyn and Luka to let me help in setting up the bed and dresser but was then promptly told to sit on the bed and rest while the nightstand and desk were being assembled. My cousin left shortly after and I declined Katelyn and Kawaii~chan's offer to help me unpack the boxes. I knew that this was really going to be the last month I could really do stuff.
My room definitely fit a spacecore aesthetic, fairly lights strung up on the ceiling luminating the room a blueish-purple color. On the walls were a few posters from shows I had watched along with a ton of astrology things that Luka had picked out. Hanging everything was not an issue, so I found myself collapsing the cardboard boxes that I had emptied and storing them in the closet with my box of memories. The closet had a rod that I used to hand up my clothes as well as a series of selves on one side and a shelf on top. I moved the memory box up onto the top shelf and went back to the boxes still in my room. These were filled with everything I would need after the baby arrived. I took a deep breath and started moving those into the closet as well, letting the stay on the floor underneath the clothes already hanging up.
As I sat on my bed, finished with moving everything in, and looked out the window, everything caught up to me. My hand found its way to my stomach as tears welled up in my eyes. Even living with two other people, I felt more alone than I ever had.
I looked down and tried to smile as I spoke. "I'm gonna take care of you. You'll never have to worry about a thing."I just hoped that I could keep that promise.
Hi hello! It's been a while! I'll keep this short: I totally forgot about this work and as such I have no clue what I was originally going to do with it. Fear not, I'm not discontinuing. If something in the future goes against something previously written then ignore the original thing. If you want more from me and like the DreamSMP then check out my ao3. I updated the description of this with everything else so go read that.
