Chapter 17

AILINN

"I missed us being together like the old times" Myke said as all three of us were eating lunch.

"Yeah I miss it to it's crazy how much has shit changed in the past year" I said to him and he agreed. Jefnier has been a bit quite this whole time he looks like he's been in deep thought.

"How is everything going at Harvard"he asked me.

"Everything is going good the brothers at the fraternity I live at are literally the best and school has been going super good as well" I said to him with a big smile.

"How about you jefnier how has your new album been going so far" Myke asked Jefnier and he finally paid attention to us.

"It's been going good. These new songs are going to fire! " he said with a big smile on his face. "But I'm working on something very important that I am even more excited about" he said while he looked at me. I was confused on what he was talking about he hadn't told me anything. I was about to ask him what he was talking about but I received a message from the boys back at the frat.

The boys: we miss youuuuu

Me:i miss y'all too! I'll be back in a few weeks

"Who you texting" Jefnier asked me curiously.

"Just the boy's" I told him as I continued to text them. I was honestly getting a bit homesick because I'm so use to them being rowdy.

"Is your Ex in that group chat as well?"Jefnier asked me which caused me to roll my eyes. I knew he was going to ask me this and he is most likely going to get mad at my answer.

"Yes,He is the president of the fraternity and one of my best friends"I said to him and just as I expected he got jealous.

"He's your Ex Ailinn you guys can't just be best friends and he treated you like shit that one night"He said to me which caused me to get a little upset and Myke was just trying to stay out of it because if he gets involved this will end up a lot worse.

"First of all we were friends before we got into a relationship and he didn't treat me like shit the only time he did step out of line was the night of the party but never before hand. He apologize for what he did and so yeah we can just be best friends. You are ridiculous Jefnier when you came to Harvard to apologize to me he was cool with me meeting up with you and staying friends with you he didn't have a problem with it." I said to him which I think might of pissed him off a little. He looked like he was going to say something back but I just got up.

"I'm just going to walk away before this turns into a bigger fight than it should" I said and I walked away. I walked towards the back door of Myke's house so I can sit out by the pool to cool down. We fight like this when we aren't together imagine how it would be if we ever did get back together.

"Ailinn" I heard Jefnier say but I just stared straight into the pool. I felt him sit next to me and he didn't talk for a minute.

"You know what I just realized Jefnier" I said calmly. "I realized how toxic we are to each other and how toxic our relationship would be if we ever did get back together" I said to him and he just stayed quite. I looked up to see him but he was also just staring at the pool.

"I feel like we are soulmates that are just not meant to be together maybe in a different lifetime we were" I said to him and he looked at me. 

"Don't say that Ailinn" He said seriously. "Never say that ever again"he said but I just gave him weak smile.

"I love you way to fucking much to let you go so take those thoughts out of your head"he said to me and I felt like crying. 

"I love you too but" I was about to finish my sentence but he cut me off. 

"There is no But's we love each other and that is enough" he said and I started feeling tears running down my cheeks. I looked at him straight into his eyes and said.

"Some times that just isn't enough"
