LEAVING THE LEASING office, you and Naoko walk cheerily, a visible pep in your steps as you grip the papers between your fingers. It's done. You got your apartment. Both of your names on the lease, your money split — you've finally made a big step towards your future. Living your life would be easier now, and with Naoko by your side, you'd breeze through the four years of college. "Hey, Nao?"

"What time is it?" you hop in the passenger seat, sliding the papers into your purse. You lean back, placing the bag in the backseat. Nao raises her arm, eyes scanning over her forearm as to check a wristwatch — one that's imaginary. You scoff, nudging her arm as your head shakes in annoyance. "Dunno. I guess around 2, since our meeting with the office was at 1:15." Damn. You were late. "How fast can you get me back to my parents'?"

You walked beside Oikawa, multiple bands of shopping bags digging into your forearms, the clashing of the bags obnoxious as you walk. Oikawa walks in silence, sunglasses on his face and hands dug into his pockets. You two walk in silence, his bodyguard following close behind your pair. You sigh exasperatedly, stopping completely in your tracks to face him. "Are we done yet? My arms are tired, and I have a long day tomorrow."

He brought you to the mall with the intent to "spruce up" your wardrobe. Apparently, your apparel wasn't to his liking, and he found himself taking it upon himself to reinvent your clothing choices. He rolls his eyes under the sunglasses, pushing the accessory up his forehead, resting it at his hairline. "Hush. You should appreciate I even took you out today. The kindness I'm showing you is being taken for granted,"

You fight the urge to slap him. Kindness...? Kindness? What a joke. As if he were, he was just using this as a ploy for blackmail in the future. He made it clear to you he reigned supreme over you, but he sure as hell didn't deserve any respect that comes with the territory. There was nothing kind about this interaction, but what could you do? Elders demand respect, even if in the long run, they didn't deserve it.
