The week passed with nothing eventful taking place. The only mildly exciting thing that happened was the day of the first Archeology group meeting. Alexandra tried to use her family's status to try and get Professor Drayce to kick Mai and Mikey from the group. Her plan ultimately failed because, according to the statistics, both of them had better marks than she did so her argument was pretty quickly shut down. Mr. Maverick was a very successfully businessman. He and his wife owned SilverBell, a very successful marketing company. Alexandra used her daddy's status to get people to do a lot for her, but as horrible as she was, her younger brother Xavier was a lot nicer.
Xavier was always intimidated by his sister when they were kids, she was able to get along with people so easily but he had a hard time speaking up. When she introduced him to Mai and her friends, he fit in pretty easily. They didn't talk as much now as they did before, but this was partially due to the fact that he was going to school in the U.K and partially due to the fact that if Alexandra ruined their relationship by telling everyone he had to go to therapy after their grandfather died because he had developed a speech impediment. Xavier refused to talk to her and it was around that time that everyone decided to disown Alexandra and her toxic habits.
The fact that Xavier hadn't talked to them in such a long time was why Mai was surprised when he decided to text her out of the blue, telling her was coming back in a few days, near the time when Teddy would be coming back. Mai was telling Tess and Sydney about it right now. They were at Sydney's house, getting ready for the concert. "So it was really strange when he messaged me. I mean I missed his presence but at the same time, why?" she said, curling her hair.
"Xavier was a treat. He was so sweet and loyal to his friends. Remember when Alexandra went crying to him because we stopped talking? He legit flipped out on her for being a toxic bitch and left her to go crying to daddy." Tess laughed, putting her makeup away.
"I would love to meet with him again, talk about school and how his life was." Sydney said. As usual, she had done her makeup in a beautiful way.
"Bitch I will be jealous of your makeup abilities till the day I die." Mai said, looking at herself in the mirror and sighing. "Let me get dressed and see how my makeup looks." She said, taking her dress and walking to Sydney's bathroom. She came out and went to the mirror. "I look hot!" she said, pinning her hair and striking a pose. "Show me your dresses! I want us to be the Cinderella's of the ball." Mai said, pushing the two to get dressed.
"Jesus woman, let me grab my dress!" Sydney said, turning around to get it. Mai sat on Sydney's bed waiting for them to come back. Sydney came out of the bathroom wearing a beautiful dark green dress with a halter neckline and a cinched waist with a silver beaded belt. She had her hair curled and some strands were pinned back, overall she looked like the Belle of the ball to Mai. "I just need to put on the school logo and then I'm ready to go!"
"You look amazing!" Mai clapped her hands in happiness. "I can't wait to see you perform!"
"Me too!" Tess said, coming into the room from the extra room. Tess had chosen a blue and white knee-length dress. It had wide shoulder straps and a net overlay. She styled her hair in curls, held back with a blue headband and curled bangs framing her face. "Damn, you guys look great!" She said. "I simply complete the set." She winked and went to grab her shoes, a pair of white heels with a glitter ombre from the toe to the heel. Sydney put on a pair of silver heels and Mai grabbed her black flats. "I know I would die wearing heels for hours so, I'm not going to." She grinned and grabbed her handbag, fixing her hair and putting her phone in it before looking around. "We ready to go?" she asked. With nods of approval, the trio head up the stairs, out the door, and into Syd's car.

They reached the concert hall and sighed. "Are you nervous?" Tess asked. Sydney shook her head and smiled. "I'm more excited than nervous! Both me and Seth have solo's so I can't wait!"
