"With great power, comes great responsibility."
That's what Benjamin Parker told his nephew 3 years ago just hours before his death and on that very night Benjamin's nephew vowed to live by that saying for the rest of his ever remaining life, why did he choose to do this? Because also in that night the nephew would run into the very man who would go on to shoot his uncle, the man was a burglar, a petty thief the nephew thought of him and it was that very line of thinking that caused the nephew to let the man go, telling the man he robbed something among the lines of "I missed the part where that's my problem."
Even though he had the power to, the nephew chose not to stop the burger and thus, fate punished him for it via a bullet in his uncle's gut, feeling a sense of responsibility for his uncle's death, the nephew chose to live by his uncle saying the rest of his life, with the question "what would Ben do?" often passing through his thoughts.
The nephew's name was Peter Parker and exactly 3 years ago today, through a spider bite he had gained extraordinary abilities in which after the passing of his uncle he vowed to only use them for good and to protect the innocent from harm, but where is he now, especially only a few days before the anniversary of his uncle's death?
Well like always, Peter is late to school and is currently swinging through the city at high speeds to get to class as fast as he can. Peter is 17 now and a senior in high school with his birthday only a month away, however, due to his activities of the superhero/vigilante Spider-Man, he always found himself to be late in some shape or form, but the crazy part was that even when he wasn't having a busy morning, he always managed to find some way to be tardy, you can try to change something a million times but if it doesn't stick the first time, it never will.
Right as he touched down on the bridge, his phone started going off in his pocket, he stopped halfway across the bridge momentarily to pull out his phone to check who was annnnnd it was none other than Ava Ayala, otherwise known as The White Tiger or as Peter would like to call her and what he thought her superhero name would ought to be "the crazy hormonal teenage girl with an amulet that grants her abilities similar to one of the most dangerous big cats on the planet" and he would suggest the name to her to her face, but he figured it was too long and he also kinda valued living.
Considering his options, Peter reluctantly decided to answer his phone, only people met with the ferocious fury of his former teammate. "PARKER! Where the hell are you?! You're about to be 15 minutes late to class, honestly, how is it that you can travel through the city way faster than we can, yet we still get here before you, ON TIME I might add?!"
He began swinging again with the phone to his ear and his mask halfway up his face so he could actually hear her, who knew holding conversation with someone without earpieces in your mask would be so difficult? "Ava, calm down. Don't worry, I'm on my way and if you're so worried about me, please note that I just touched down on Manhattan and if some random d-list supervillain doesn't decide to enact their evil plan today, then I'll be in Midtown in about 5 minutes give or take."
But just then, an explosion at the bank went off and at that moment, Peter was silently cursing himself and his big mouth. "Well if you tempt fate hard enough." He thought to himself, as Ava began questioning what was going on over at his end, so now he needed to give her a quick run down before hanging up. "Explosion. Likely Grand theft. People in danger. Will try to wrap up as quickly as possible. Buh bye."
"Wait! Peter, N-", he heard right before pressing the end call button, he knew that was likely going to be his ass, but it didn't matter right now, they were thieves to stop and people to save, she'll understand right? "Ugh, Ava gonna kill me." He thought right as he swung into the direction of the bank robbery and if he's quick enough, maybe he could beat his top record time of 7 minutes. Even though he didn't want to acknowledge it, Peter knew that his day was only just starting.
