I got up and got dressed, for the arrival of my father. Which I was not looking for at all. My father is a very, honest respectful but not open minded man. If he even knew or found out about my secret, it wont be pretty. My hair had started to grow back a bit, but not to the curling point. I heard my mother in the kitchen, slamming around dishes. She was obviously stressed out. "Jospeh! You better be dressed in five minutes. I'm not playing games today with you." I sighed and continued to get dressed. I took the brush and brushed out what little hair had grown back. I heard a loud firm knock at the door, "Joseph your father is here. Get out here!" I came running down the hallway. My hair was brushed out and I was wearing a black young boys tuxedo with a cheap dirty red tie. Although, the rest of the outfit was smooth and ironed out.
I opened the door seeing my father in uniform, with a leather suit case a buzz cut. He was a tall tan man, he stood about 6ft tall. I was a little puny shrimp compared to him. "Hello, father." I said. He sat down the suit case and shook my hand. Why, couldn't he just be like a real dad and give his kid a hug? "Hello, Joseph." He gestured to come inside and I opened the door wide. "Hunny! Your home.." My mother teared up and hugged him, he picked her up. "And I'm here to stay, my love."
Later that evening my mother, father and I sat at the dinner table eating lunch. My mother had made some of her famous Italian salad, she always put to many carrots. "So, Joseph." I looked up from my plate, my heart started racing. "Yes sir." I said, "What's all this nonsense about you wearing a dress and girly stuff. Huh?" He looked me right in the eye, "It was just a joke, sir..." I said. I was always intimidated by the man. "This 'joke' is not happening again. Do you understand me Joseph." I started to cry and I ran to my room and grabbed my runaway bag. "Joseph sit down!" The tall man stood up and punched his fist on the table which shook the dining area.
I went running all the way down to the forest. I stopped in the forest after running about a mile and ran east, I sat down with tears repeatedly streaming down my face and dug a small hole in the dirt. I unzipped my runaway bag and buried my pink lipstick and pink pearl bracelet in the ground and covered it up. I was burying my secret, a secret I could never reveal.. I ran down towards the lake. I looked in, I just couldn't take this life anymore. I couldn't do it, if I can't be myself I just couldn't be here. I jumped in the the coldness shocked my body. My mind started to freezing, I sunk deeper. And deeper towards the bottom, I could feel my lungs closing. But wait! I thought to myself, Kenny. There's Kenny...I could live for Kenny.
