Japanese began to immigrate to America in the 1860s. Mari Ishikawa chose to participate in the Steel Ball Run, a race that is from San Diego to New York. Mari comes across Johnny Joestar an ex-jockey who desires to walk again, and Gyro Zeppeli
That's the stand name. That's Mari's stand name. Like say on what happened last chapter, her hand got stuck in her face. Sometimes her body parts can turn more transparent or most likely air, or however you wanna interpret it.

Basically then she could do anything with that. She can go through stuff, but then sometimes she can get stuck if she fucks it up, like how her hand got stuck in her face. She can undo this if she does the same process.
So let's say her stand decides to say fuck it while it's still bound to her body (it's not completely bound, however while it is stuck to her body her stand is the one changing her body parts to that)

ANYWAY BACK TO THE STORY
"Bloody hell!" Johnny exclaimed. "Gyro what the hell is going on now?! It stopped but my fingernails!.."
