Gyro Zeppeli immediately had zipped on up ahead when the race began, leaving the group behind, Mari definetely surprised, the guy definetely was no joke. 'What the hell is up with this guy?!' Mari thought to herself. She has heard about people like DIO or Abdul. Gyro had no record at all. Dio and Gyro however were very attrac-
Mari then shook her head. Why was she thinking about that at a time like this? She can separate who's a snack and who is not later when she has time to rest!
(Okay but fr bias tho, I'm a gyro stan all the way, but diego is pretty good too 😔✋)
Since Gyro had left the group to go on ahead, that's when the horses started getting agitated. "Shhh...maynard..." Mari whispered to her horse. Then she quickly took the reins of her horse and then moved a quick RIGHT then went back foward due to a collision that had happened straight ahead, slightly spotting a blonde figure with blue clothing, wasn't that the cripple she considered hitting? Diego Brando (DIO) had then caught up with Gyro, right on his tail, Urmd Abdul making his way right behind them. Gyro seemed to be slowing down.
Gyro then raised his green steel ball and then launched it, the ball ricocheting off the branches breaking them. Mari of course was puzzled, the guy could get caught in the branches! Then suddenly a man on a horse caught up beside Mari and then tried to bump her horse, the girl quickly sped up, the man falling into cactuses. "Dick!" Mari yelled over at the male as she zoomed ahead of him.
Abdul's camel then charged into a group of cactI, thus making the male be eliminated as Gyro once again zooms ahead, for some odd reason Diego closing in on Gyro again, but it was as if he teleported, because then Diego was next to Gyro.
"Everything...has it's own habits..." Diego said. "Wether it be machines or other objects. Horses especially, since they are living beings that have more characteristics then humans..." He adds.
Everytime this horse breathes eight times it always sways left when running. Naturally its speed drops when it sways. Diego then finally passed, Mari somehow catching up with the cripple she considered hitting earlier when he was pushing everyone. She did not really process it was Johnny Joestar though. Johnny did not process that it was a person near him either, just focused on the whole diego and gyro, like it was a movie.
Gyro then seemed to have the situation under control. He threw that same green steel ball, the planks of the bridge Diego and Gyro went on, and then Diego could not pass, but Gyro passed.
Johnny and Mari finally noticed eachother, only giving eachother a glare as they both chased down Gyro. Then finally as Gyro approached a forest, a new contender caught up with Johnny and Mari. Pocoloco was his name if I recall, he closed his eyes and then that earned gasps from Mari and Johnny, well confused gasps.
(Mari: member when I liked you
Johnny: no
Mari: good cuz nEvEr happEned
Johnny: oh
Mari: *dramatically sashaying backwards* oH Ha! HO!🖕)
"How stupid is he?!" Mari exclaimed out loud. The guy was going to get hit by branches closing his eyes like that! Not to mention other people who were entering the forest also ended up getting hit by branches.
The guy who had his eyes closed had seemed to accelerate. Mari then moved away from Johnny joestar and the strange male, trying to move ahead where it looked like there was enough room. Then suddenly two guys went after Mari to try and knock her out. Mari noticed, but then she pulled out a revolver. She then murmured a cussword to herself and then just put her gun away. By then it was like once again, Mari fainted, but she didnt. Her vision went black, her hearing stopped, her breathing stopped all for a moment, but then the two guys that were chasing her then got hit by branches. Mari finally exited the forest, once again catching up to Johnny Joestar.
Well not exactly up to Johnny Joestar, but she was close to him. Other riders accelerated up too, Pocoloco and Gyro being at the lead.
Upon coming down a hill, thus things started getting steep. Riders then proceeded to collapse one by one, some getting crushed by their horses. Some horses even persevered, and the riders continued to accelerate.
When Mari finished that annoying hill, she went to go pay attention to see if Pocoloco was even still up. Well she was just in time to watch! The male fell...or so she thought.
A cow's body.
A cow's dead FUCKING body. And he was riding it! 'How did this guy even make it this far? He is just too lucky!' Mari thought.
Gyro then threw his steel ball and it hit a rock wall, he was gonna stop Pocoloco from riding the dead cow. But then suddenly someone came down into view. The rock fell down too late! But who was that person? He is outrunning everybody!
'He just took a shortcut over the rocks, but the real trouble of the first stage is this guy..' Gyro thought to himself, staring at Pocoloco 'Something has to be helping him..' He adds. 'Some kind of power has to be protecting this guy. How can I change the flow of luck so he runs over himself instead?'
Then Gyro began to speak. "My horse has been a sprinter since birth...even if I can't do anything to him...if I stare at his ass the whole time I can't win!"
Then Gyro picked up the pace yet again, getting ahead of Pocoloco. Civilians at the finish line roaring, even more people there then at the opening ceremony of the Steel Ball Run. Maynard, Mari's horse was doing just fine, maybe agitated and exhausted, but fine. She looked behind her then her eyes widened. Dio?! He was catching up making his way past the crowd, he then caught up to Johnny Joestar. Johnny Joestar then accelerated from what Mari could see. Then she accelerated as well, barely even making it out of the large crowd of riders.
Mari's attention from the leading people ahead then went to a crash that happened with a few riders. The horses were exhausted after all. Mari then shook off the attention she had for the other riders then focused ahead.
She was barely even ahead of the group, and that guy that was running on foot got ahead of the group. Then well...next was Gyro that got ahead. Mari's eyes widened. Gyros horse should be exhausted! But then she noticed, he used the steel balls and wrapped his Cape around it to make a sail.
Thus Gyro Zeppeli was the champion of the first stage.
