chapter 11

( granger's p. o. v)

"granger, you've come.  please take a sit"
the grandmaster told me to sit.  I sat down at the nearby couch clinching my fist.
"what makes you to call me grandmaster?"
I asked him.  he looks pale and worried. there must be a big problem.  I think I got a new mission?
the grandmaster sip his tea and said
"granger, you've got a new mission"
I was right the reason he call me would be the matter of my new mission.
I just kept silent. and listen to his every single words.
"there is an abyssal demon living among us. we still don't know who it is but, our information has been leak out to the abyss" he said worriedly. *sighs* "you must fine that demon and kill him. or else our information will be....
"don't worry grandmaster. I can handle this.  you just be rest assured"

"here's the contract death chanter, you must sign here.  but there's a risk.  in this mission you can't quit till you complete the mission.... it can also cause your life"  he handed granger the Contract and a pen.
"don't worry I won't quit.  my faith is rock solid"  I took the pen a sign the contract.
"you will be starting your mission from tomorrow. rest assured granger you are not alone. our under cover demon hunter is there he will help you?"

"he is there?  what do you mean?  grandmaster you mean I....

"yes granger you will be transferred in the land of dawn. it is said to be the demon is living there... tomorrow come again we will give you the informations"
he gave me pitiful glare.
"good luck in your new mission death chanter"
I didn't say a word. I just left and went back to the monastery.

I sat on my bed. thinking about tomorrow's mission. well, it is not that difficult for me nor easy. being a demon hunter my life is stuck.  I have to serve the Moniyan empire till I die.
but I'll be faithful to the empire.
I popped on my bed bringing my guitar closer.  I started to play the music. it felt nostalgic to me.  it brings all the past memories. it calms my mind.

flashback....

"hey if you dare then catch me.. I know you can't moron" little Guinevere giggles along the hall. followed by granger, chasing after her.
"I'm gonna catch you Guinevere. clench your fist miss violet. I m gonna reach for it"
they run through the halls, and corridors. there giggles echo all around the palace.
"got ya" granger caught her. he can't even breathe properly.
"Ahhhhhhh.... that was fun" Guinevere chirp.  they were inside the garden.  they don't even know when did they reach here. they were bussy in chasing after each other.
"you know what granger, you're special to me... I feel good when I'm with you.  you're my best buddy.  granger just smile at her.
"miss violet?"
"yes?"
"where's your bow?"  granger pointed at her indicating her bow was gone.
"pewboom" Guinevere said in frustration.
"what?  what did you said miss violet?"  granger was confused he don't know what his loss violet has spoken.

"lady Guinevere... lady Lina wants to see you"  one of lady Lina's maid came and took Guinevere along with her.
"bye granger, see you soon" she waved good bye to him.
"good bye miss violet" he waved his hands back smiling.
Granger stood there watching Guinevere going inside with the maid.

"may be I should also head to my own business" granger was about to go inside. he stumbled upon something.  he look down to see it was miss violet's  missing bow. he smiled.
"I found it... I will give it later"  he kept the bow under his pocket and went inside to help the maids.

end of flashback..

granger took the bow from the pocket of his jacket. he caressed the bow carefully. smiling at the remembrance of his dear miss violet. he acknowledged it that he won't have the chance to return the bow to her.
after that incident, granger was transferred back to the monastery.  he can't even have a chance to talk with Guinevere be fore he go.

*brings the bow closer to his chest*

"I hope one day.... I would have a chance to meet you and return your purple bow to you"
