"He's totally obsessed with you.""Obsessed with murdering me perhaps."
"Obsessed nonetheless."

I walked through the sloping lawn with Daphne next to me. I saw the Serpents laughing up ahead and the rest of the Slytherins drawled behind Daphne and me. We were slightly late for Care of Magical Creatures, but I don't think any of us really cared. I'd never tell the Gits because they'd get angry at me, but I don't like the Professor that much. All the creatures are really dangerous, and I can't really understand what he says sometimes.
The fact that Draco got hurt by one of the creatures last year from this class was another reason. Not because Draco got hurt though. I actually teased him for it while Pugsy gave him unnecessary attention. No, it was because now I was worried, I'd get hurt.
"On'y jus' hatched," I faintly heard the giant say proudly, "so yeh'll be able ter raise 'em yerselves! Thought we'd make a bit of a project of it!"
I smelled them before I saw the disgusting, horrible creatures from afar and grimaced. They looked like deformed, shell-less lobsters, horribly pale and slimy-looking, with legs sticking out in very odd places and no visible heads. There were about a hundred of them in each crate, each about six inches long, crawling over one another, bumping blindly into the sides of the boxes. They were giving off a very powerful smell of rotting fish. Every now and then, sparks would fly out of the end of a skrewt, and with a small phut, it would be propelled forward several inches. Why the fuck would we want to raise them?
I think Daphne was thinking the same from the disgusted look on her face.
"And why would we want to raise them?" Draco asked coldly as we reached them.
Hm. Looks like he was thinking the same as well.
The Serpents chuckled appreciatively at his words.
Hagrid looked stumped at the question.
"I mean, what do they do?" asked Draco. "What is the point of them?"
Hagrid opened his mouth, apparently thinking hard. There was a few seconds' pause before he said roughly, "Tha's next lesson, Malfoy. Yer jus' feedin' 'em today. Now, yeh'll wan' ter try 'em on a few diff'rent things. I've never had 'em before, not sure what they'll go fer. I got ant eggs an' frog livers an' a bit o' grass snake. Just try 'em out with a bit of each."
"Ouch!" yelled one of the Gryffindors after about ten minutes. "It got me."
Hagrid hurried over to him, looking anxious.
"What did he say?"
I looked at Daphne, her eyes filled with worry. I flushed, looking down. Dad had brought me into his office, scolding me for almost spilling the secret and letting my emotions get the better of me. Of course, I couldn't say that because Daphne didn't know the secret.
"Just scolded me. You know...anger control and breath work." I mumbled, looking away.
Daphne frowned. "Oh Ris, I wanted to warn you-"
I shook my head. "You don't need to apologize. I exploded on my own-"
Movement caught my eye as I noticed familiar brown hair. Lia ran over to the group, getting in between Potter and Bush. I watched as Black strutted by, her head held high and stood next to Weasel.
My blood boiled at the sight of her.
I glanced over at the Gits, Lia, and Black. They looked at me and Daphne waving. I could see Bush lean over, whispering in Lia's ear. I frowned, looking away as Lia's eyes widened.
