Through the glistening bushes, with their leaves covered in a blanket of dew, sat a young woman braiding vines into her blonde hair. She smiled as the warm sun kissed her olive skin and the gentle spring breeze made the overhead branches chime. What could be more freeing?

"Persephone!"
Definitely not that.

Her mother, Demeter, didn't like her wasting time even though it she spent the last two months making sure that the people's' harvests were perfect and she clearly needed a break. Demeter pushed her way through the bushes and stared at her youthful daughter with her forest green eyes which you can just melt into. "You won't believe the news I've heard darling!" Demeter exclaimed, and what she heard next was the last thing Persephone wanted her suffocating mother to say. "I've found you another potential husband!"

Despite her age, Persephone never like the idea of marriage especially when the prospect of it is always being shoved down her throat. Being forced to spend the rest of her life with someone she barley knows let alone loves? She could think of anything more miserable. "I thought we have been over this mother... I don't wish to wed unless I love the man." Persephone loved her mother dearly but the fact her mother never listens or cares to see her point of view has taken a huge toll on their relationship over the years. "Darling you will understand one day that I want you to wed as I know it is the best for you. I married and it was the best thing for me." Demeter prowled closer to the young girl observing her eyes well up whilst her long eyelashes create a dam to avoid her tears flowing. "I understand mother; may I ask who is this man I am to meet?"

Demeter intertwined her fingers with her fragile daughters; "Apollo, they are a very kind eligible God who you will meet at this evenings Olympians dinner." The Olympians dinner was a banquet held every three months at Olympus. It was very grand and it was mostly an excuse to get intoxicated and have more gods 'created'. Persephone never had her eyes on Apollo, however he has always been very keen to get her alone. She gagged at the thought of even spending an evening with him let alone the rest of her existence.

"Mother I can assure you Apollo and I are not a good match. We have nothing in common and I don't love him whatsoever!" The young flower was so frustrated, for the first time she was allowed to go to the dinner and she has to spend it swatting away the useless fly that is Apollo. As she sees her mother turn to focus growing a pomegranate tree, she wonders to herself ; 'is there anyone more alone than me?'

Sinking into his sliver throne, Hades buried his head in his hands. Another long day of dismissing new arrivals who claim their innocence who wish to be free of the underworld. 'You would think after living they would give up lying' he thought to himself as he tried to gather any energy he had left to head to his room when a deafening echo of Cerberus' barks entering the obsidian castle. Hades gave a smile grin as the three headed cuddle monster bounded up to him with a fresh bone in his middle jaw.

"Hey boy..." he sighed; "sorry I can't play this evening I have to go the Olympians Dinner tonight." The pup gave three small frowns and whimpers to this remark, making the God feel even worse. He never enjoyed going to these events especially when most Gods and Goddesses won't even address him, however, Zeus wouldn't let him miss it for the world. Having someone to exile and laugh at made it even more if an enjoyable evening. Well to them at least.

The drained God snapped his fingers and a black and grey 3 piece suit coated it way over to him from out of his ancient, burned wooden dresser. "At least when this ordeal is over I can come back and play with you huh buddy?" He said whilst looking at the playful beast beside him which earned him a trifecta of slobbery kisses. "Without you I'd be completely alone... well I am alone"
