Sawing in the the sunset, Persephone was finishing up her hair in the oak standing mirror. Her dress was glistening in the golden sun, the most beautiful blue garment which matched her hazel eyes to a perfection. She dreamed of what this evening would be like, but the more she thought of it, it was starting to look more like a nightmare. A lonely, miserable, tedious nightmare.

Before she knew it her mother was dragging her up the stairs to the enormous doors of Zeus' residence. Regardless of him being her father, Persephone barely knew him other than that he was in agreement she needed to marry. Soon.

As soon as the doors opened out flooded a stream of harmonious laughter and enchanted music. Demeter smiled as she gestured to Persephone to take off her coat whilst she was greeted by Hera. Shyly, the girl took off the long old coat to reveal her shimmering blue dress, which hugged her hips just the right way. "My..." stated Hera, "What a wonderful young woman you've turned out to be 'sephone!" Persephone cringed at the nickname Hera had given her. The goddess claimed she chose it as her given name was too much of a mouthful, when in reality she couldn't be bothered to say her name correctly. Before she had the chance to curtly respond she was forcefully turned by a pair of strange hands.

"Apollo!" Demeter greeted, "how wonderful to see you again." Persephone looked up and saw a madman. The guy looked like his eyes were going to pop out of their sockets, let alone the drooling. Persephone pushed his hands off her slim shoulders and crossed her arms in a defensive pose. "Why if it isn't Persephone!" He swooned "how has this evening been treating so far my love?" The sapling raised her eyebrow at the love sick lunatic; "Well before you showed up." She uttered under her breath before she gritted her teeth and politely replied "Well so far, thank you..." Was this really the person her mother wanted her to marry? She turned to face her mother and Hera to seek for an escape, but it seems her mother had already disappeared before she could get out of the grip of the poor God before her. This was going to be a long night she thought gloomily.

Over by the bar Hades had already grabbed himself a whiskey and started to quietly sip away the evening. He noticed his higher class brother sitting on one of the jewel incrusted barstools alone as well, Poseidon. Soon enough his older brother flagged him down and brought him into an embrace, "Brother! How have you been?" It was comforting to know that at least one person appreciated him at this horrific event.

"Busy but well thank you Poseidon, how's the saltwater been treating you?" The ominous God smirked. He's never been good at small talk or even being nice to his siblings. He was trying however, if not Poseidon who does he really have? "Not too bad lil bro, I'm surprised you haven't noticed you aren't the talk of tonight's show?" The jolly God laughed. "What are you on about Barnacle boy?" Hissed hades towards his brother. "Persephone of course! Demeter has finally allowed her to come to the dinner, apparently to find her a suitable husband ASAP."
"I would have thought you'd be more caught up in a fisherman's net than other people's business brother." Hades remarked. He never saw the benefits of interfering where his business isn't wanted, after all being ostracised by all the gods doesn't seems like a sign they want him even knowing their business.

The Sea God eyed his slim brother up and down; "You do realise Demeter would never let you near her right? She hates your guts" chuckling to himself slightly. Nodding, Hades agrees with his brother, "I'd be a dead man if I even tried to go near her." Though they had never met before, Demeter had made it very clear Hades would stay away from Persephone. Which is challenging when you have no idea what the person you are not meant to see even looks like.

From amongst the crown a faint "Poseidon" chant can be heard. Both Gods turned towards the noise giving one another a small smile. The brother takes this as his cue to leave giving his little brother a small but meaningful wave as he disappears into the crowd. Finding himself alone once again Hades takes the time to open his golden stopwatch; only 21:00 (9pm sorry non Europeans (Americans mainly)). Well what do I do now? He thought. Thankfully, the dinner bell answered his questions and everyone made their way to the elegant table.

Hades POV
Making my way to my designated seat, I notice some commotion from across the dining room.  A struggling Apollo trying to keep his grip on a young woman, will the man ever learn? He's drooling so much he could give Cerberus a run for his money.

I slumped into the red velvet cushioned seat whilst chugging the rest of my whiskey. Simultaneously, the young woman before seats herself in front of me. Golden locks of silky hair cover her face, like the stage curtains at the pantomime waiting for the show to begin. Her slim arms folded on the table, shielding herself
