Shiro thought that he would feel better about his imprisonment as time passed. Fighting in an inter-galactic war, returning home, seeing Adam again, and other events would have surely helped him cope. Shiro had thought that the Garrison scientists would limit the amount of emotional trauma given to him. And even with the flashes of painful memories that shot agony through his body, he continued to hope for one peaceful one. A memory that didn't hurt.
But he thought wrong. His prayers were not answered.
The flashes eventually stopped. Shiro couldn't feel his legs. His entire body trembled. He couldn't tell if it was from fear that trickled in his veins, or the aftermath of the torture he had just relived. His eyes darted around the room. The arm Pidge had made him was attached to him, and the skin was still clear. Despite the immense amount of blood and pain that he had seen in the flashbacks, his arm seemed fine. There was no redness or swelling.
Physically he was okay.

The doors opened with a smooth swish. Shiro's hand was staticky and his legs were still numb. Tears fell from his eyes. His face was to the ceiling.
"Welcome back to your newest reality, Shirogane." Someone spoke. Shiro's vision was blurred with tears.
A doctor appeared in his sight.
"You gave us quite the important information," He told him. Shiro's throat felt like it was closing. His chest was heavy. He choked out a sob.
"I need someone to assist Shirogane to the waiting area. And being the next person in." The doctor demanded.
